Anybody been? I've never heard of this shop and came across it when searching SF for something else. They apparently sell Drakes, Aldens, Chrysalis, and a bunch of other brands I had no idea were on offer in Crabtown. http://www.samuelparker.com/ Regular sales?

I went there a few weeks ago for the first time. I was the only one in the small shop - they do have a small selection of drakes and pantharella socks which is why I went.

The proprietor is very friendly and helpful. They carry Polo RL, Sammy, Ghurka bags, and Aldens. They have some casual wear as well.

I would recommend at least one visit - be prepared to pay full price for everything (I'm not sure about sales).

I was at this store recently, so I thought I'd bump this thread. The majority of the clothes are Blue Label Polo (dress & formal shirts, suits, pants). He stocks Samuelsohn suits, which he has made to his own specifications, as well as the following brands (not an exhaustive list): Albert Thurston braces Trafalgar braces Alden Crockett & Jones Hilditch & Key shirts The proprietor is very knowledgable. He can explain the difference between all the different cuts of Polo suits (I, II, III, IV, Bradford, Garrison, etc.) and the pants (Regent, Dalton, Preston, etc.) He's the first person I've met who can differentiate pants based on differences in rise. He also stocks Ralph Lauren footwear. There were more than one pair of Darltons out on the sales floor. All tailoring is done in-house. Like the previous poster said, be prepared to pay full price. No word on when sales happen. It's worth a visit if you're in the area or are looking to check out any of those brands.

Any recent reviews of this store? I need to be sized for some quality dress shoes and there's pretty much nothing in this area. The best shoes anywhere near this area are sold at Nordstrom, and their SA's know nothing about the shoes they sell.

I'll at least give this place a try so I can put on some Alden in person to see how they fit on my feet.

I finally got a chance to visit this store earlier this week. It's a very small shop, not a huge amount of inventory on hand, but he did have some nice stuff. The owner, Ken, was the only one working when I went in. He said it's just him and his wife that run the whole shop. He was a great guy....a little eccentric, but he definitely knew what he was talking about, which was very refreshing. I'm used to looking at places like Nordstrom where the SA's know next to nothing about anything they're selling.

I was there mostly to look at shoes and try on some Aldens. Again, not a ton of stock in the store, but he pulled out their catalog and said he could order me anything they offer. I got to try on a couple pairs and also checked out his Polo shoes. I saw a pair of Darltons which I instantly fell in love with, but they don't offer those in widths, and the standard D was a little wide for me.

I'm definitely considering going back and placing an order for some Alden's, if only because I liked the owner and his shop, and I think it's important to support local businesses. If you live in Baltimore or the surrounding areas, I definitely suggest stopping by and taking a look.

Finally stopped in today. They're having a summer sale. A bunch of Robert Talbott and a few Drake's summer ties half off.I think some of the H&K shirts were 30% off. Lots of shell shoes from Alden and RLP but not on sale.

What are the prices like on the Alden shell offerings? Any better than usual? - regular Alden pricing...

They were ~ $500, IIRC.

Wow, $500 is actually a pretty good price for Alden shells....I'm going to head back there next chance I get. I wish they had better hours, they're only open till 6 on weekdays and then a few hours on Saturday.

Just went back to Samuel Parker today to place an order for a pair of shell cordovan longwings. Price was $595 + tax, so around $630 all in. I'm sure I could have found them slightly cheaper somewhere else, but I like the store, so I'd rather give them my business than some online store.

The store is only open until 6pm, and I got out of work early enough to make it there before they closed today, but I got stuck in traffic on the way over there. I called Ken to tell him I was trying to get there before 6, but that I might be a little late, and he kept the store open until I arrived. I got there, placed my order, and got to chat with him for a bit until about 6:15. Great guy, great store...I'll definitely be back to place an order for my next pair of shoes. I'm excited for my order to come in, he said it should get to his store by next Wednesday or Thursday - first pair of Alden shells for me!

I go to Samuel Parker pretty regularly. Normally, it's just to pick up a new tie, pocket square or pair of socks. At the moment, his price point is a shade too high for me. With that being said, I did purchase a Samuelsohn sport jacket during his summer sale. It was fifty or sixty percent off. Tailoring was free. The jacket looks and fits great.

Samuel Parker has two or three sales a year. If you sign up for their mailing list (not emailing list, they don't have one) you will get a postcard in the mail a few weeks ahead of time advertising them. Normally their sales go for one or two weeks. Occasionally they will have a trunk sale. Those also are advertised via postcard and typically occur on a Saturday. Other than that, Ken is one of the biggest donors to the Junior League of Baltimore and a lot of his older products (jackets, ties, sweaters, shirts etc.) can be found at various JLB events during the year at a VERY discounted price.

If you live in Baltimore, Samuel Parker is a store worth visiting and worth giving your business. Ken offer great service and knows his clientele (practically by name!)

I think he still had some stuff from the summer season on sale - he said he should be getting new items for fall any day now, so some things should still be on sale to clear room for the new fall merch. I wish I had time to look around a little more, but it was already past his closing time, so I didn't want to browse around the store while he was waiting to lock up. I signed up for the mailing list while I was there, so I'll definitely be on the lookout for the post cards for the next sale!
