I was incredibly disappointed by the small number of people who got my Steve Holt costume. To be fair, my wig was awful and looked like a rat's nest on top of my head but yelling out "STEVE HOLT!" still did not help out most people.

I think I am going to do Lloyd Dobler from Say Anything this year.
-Have a trenchcoat (or could thrift up some london fog crap).
-Sweatpants should be easy to find.
-Dunno if I can find any dirt cheap white hitops but white sneakers should be ok (maybe something like payless has some crap shoes?)
-Can't find anything close to the right Clash t-shirt but there's a place here that can custom print shirts pretty quick with no minimums so I will whip one up in photoshop and have them print it...
-The boombox is going to be tough...will try to hit thrift stores and maybe a stereo repair shop this weekend. There are a few on ebay but most of them are far more expensive than I'd like. Doesn't have to work as I could just strip out the internals and hide an ipod inside...but I did find a copy of the Peter Gabriel album on cassette for $3 which is pretty legit.

I might redo my spidermensch costume. Last year I went as Steve Jobs but I can't think of anything equally tasteless for 2012.

I have everything for my Say Anything costume.

Thrift shops have let me down on the silver 80s boombox... so I bought a more modern boombox just to have something but I am still holding out that I will see a better boombox tonight or tomorrow (damn thrift stores restock too slow!).

Photoshopped up a nice Clash t shirt and got it printed on a natural colored cotton shirt resembling the one he is wearing in the movie. $10 for a custom printed t shirt with pretty good print quality--not a bad deal.

I was considering doing Eddie Murphy from Raw or his earlier stand up act (in red leather suit) but I think Tyrone Biggums will be easier.
