I really like some of the pieces from Moncler Gamme Bleu. The prices are out of control, though...

because it wasn't warm, it was hot for me in toronto weather

i could survive just fine in a wool coat by layering a bit and wearing a scarf/hat/gloves.. my body doesn't feel cold at all

if i worked as a snow shoveller or bouncer or something then i'd repurchase

Will be watching this thread closely. After moving, I'm in the market for a nice winter parka as well.

Trying to find a new winter jacket, have it narrowed down to a few parka options but idk. Pardon the awful poses Nom De Guerre: The faux-fur is kind of a deal-breaker but if it's removable I can deal with it. Fjallraven: And, not a brand I'd usually look at, this J. Lindeberg one doesn't look half bad. What is everybody going to be wearing or considering this winter?

From what I've read on a local forum, the yukon is not as warm as the chiliwack.

These are simliar to Canada goose.

That's good because I have tried on the chiliwak and it really was absurdly warm. Not to mention heavy.

It's Japanese size S, American XS. But it's a Japan-only cut. Non-Japanese CG won't fit this slim. I'm 5'11". I don't know my shoulder measurement.

Heavy really? Hit the gym son!

As a Texan, this thread makes me laugh. I'm glad I don't have to spend money on fur-lined monstrosities. I do like the Crescent Down jackets, though.

Any recommendations for a winter coat, which will protect well from heavy rain as well? Using an umbrella where I am isn't really an option, the wind just destroys them.

yeah, they are a ton of great suggestions if you read this thread
