Carbamide Peroxide - Teeth whitening

I have some trays a dentist made for me a few years ago. I also have a couple tubes of 16% Carbamide peroxide, that expired a few years ago. I used about half of one tube last night, and will use the other half of the tube tonight.

The other tube doesn't ooze out of the syringe, it has hardened a little.

before, You could only get this stuff from the dentist. Now I see alot of it for sale online.

I was checking amazon.com and they seem to have many different brands of Carbamide peroxide at many different strengths.

I know the higher %'s require less time to work. ex: you leave them in for an hour or so instead of overnight.

I haven't had any problems in the past with sensitivity to the 16%.

I am wondering if anyone here has bought syringes of Carbamide peroxide and could give a reputable vendor. Also, has anyone used other strengths? i think they go up to 41% of so.

i dont know but im getting some whitening trays from my dentist this week i will let you know what i think

I've used up to 35%. It can be hard on your gingiva and leave your teeth feeling sensitive. The Watts Power kits work well. I don't like the feeling of custom trays so I take a Crest Whitestrip and fill it with the Watts gel.

Any peroxide that is above 25% is either weak and a marketing scam or the company that is selling is reckless. 35% can cause permanent sensitivity damage to your teeth and gum if used in a tray (without isolating gums) and or for hours. This is the reason deep bleaching products like KOR whitening system requires you to show up to a dentist for 35% application and then sends you home with a kit with lower percentage peroxide for 14 days.

"Ultra-White" (don't confuse with "ultra white smile" or "ultrawhites" scam)
"Opalescene"
"Nite-White"

These three get a lot of positive ratings and their peroxides are professional grade made by same companies that markets them to dentists. Never use expired peroxides because they won't give you good results; you waste time and you risk unnecessary sensitivity issues. Quality fresh peroxides and proper custom fit trays will give you equal results to what a dentist will offer, but at fraction of the cost because you don't pay for their rent and salary and assistants.
