Help: alden boots help

Thread Starter
Gentlemen, I am looking at several pairs of Alden Boots on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....y=1262; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....y=1262; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....y=1262; However, I have no experience with Alden except the understanding of the same high quality of their Shell Cordovan line. Normally, I wear Allen edmonds 7 1/2 EEE OR 8 EE(EEE), and Ferragamo, bruno magli 8W(EE). My question is : will the Alden BOOts on ebay fit me SizeWise? I know it is best for me to try on but I would not mind to risk a little after taking your advice Thanks a lot for your reply. kev

This isn't going to be much help, but he only way to know whether the shoes will fit is to try them on. That style isn't in the regular Alden catalogue, so I can't be sure what last it's made on. It looks like Barrie to me, but it's hard to tell. Shoes on the Barrie last tend to run a little bit (maybe a half a size) large. Take that for what little it's worth. The boots are shell cordovan, so you should be able to resell them without any trouble if you buy them and they end up not fitting.

I believe the boots come on the Trubalance last, which might even be a tad roomier than the Barrie last. They are essentially variations on the "Indy-Boot" as worn by Harrison Ford in the three Indiana Jones movies. http://www.aldenshop.com/DrawOneShoe.asp?CategoryID=109 On the Trubalance last: http://www.aldenshoe.com/cat_ortho_trub.htm go on to Facts and Fittings Guidelines. How that translate to Allen-Edmond shoes (they, of course, have a variety of different lasts) and EEE vs E, I cannot tell you. You might want to contact clothingbrokers, after all, they deal with Alden and Allen-Edmonds all day long.
