What to wear to Bloomingdales Interview?

I'm interviewing for a FT "Contemporary Sportswear Sales Professional" with Bloomingdales soon and I'm hoping you guys might have some advice, especially with regards to appropriate attire.

Clearly I'd like to dress to impress, but I'm not certain if I should attempt to dress like their sales associates, or more formally, perhaps in a suit. Thoughts?

My background is in men's suiting and semi-formal clothing, though I wear many labels sold in Bloomingdales men's sportswear department.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers.

If your background is in men's suiting, wear a suit. It's better to overdress than underdress for an interview.

Dress in your best sportswear look. They're going to want to know that you're capable of providing good style advice to their clients in your respective department. I know this is styleforum and wearing a suit is the go-to for interviews but I wouldnt do it in this case.

A friend of mine worked at Bloomy's during his under grad years as a salesman in the suit dept. He wore a suit to the interview.

Wear a suit. They are more concerned with if you can sell than how you put together a sportwear look. Putting together outfits is less of a factor than you would think. There are plenty of sales people who sell like crazy and dress like boobs.

double monks with only 1 strap done up, button down collar with no buttons actually down (that shit gotta be free), tie knot that looks so rediculously 'just thrown on' that you know its not really, tie bar on an angle, cream silk hermes pocket square (but you want the old kind so they know you ballin frealz, not some new blood wannabe) Also I would probably bring a cane and a monocle.

Wear a suit. I've had positions at Saks, Macy's, and Lord & Taylor. I wore a suit to every interview, no matter what buying category I was applying for. The same would hold true for sales associates. A good sales associate can sell anything, and you could be moved to another dept. down the road. Better to project a professional vibe.

Make sure it's well cut. Keep the tie and shirt simple. And black suits are okay for these interviews too.
