US Open Tennis Final Postponed

So what happens if you bought a ticket for the Men's final on Sunday and it gets moved to Monday? (which is exactly what just happened)

Aren't a large majority of fans going to lose their ass on these tickets, since a huge chunk of them are probably flying home on Monday, or need to be at work in the office?

I mean, damn, it sucks to be anyone right now who paid out the ass for those tickets. I looked at the prices for a nosebleed seat, and even those were going for hundreds of dollars. I can't imagine what guys are losing on the good seats if they have to fly home tomorrow instead of seeing the rescheduled final.

It does indeed suck. I'm just leaving work early tomorrow, and my seat is 'decent.' But take the case of someone who paid a considerable amount (say, $2k+) for a ticket. If this was a large expenditure for said individual, re-booking a flight would probably be relatively minor. If not, then it would just be generally minor

My ex and I were at the Open years ago and a couple sessions we had tickets for were rained-out. We got equal tickets to the following year's tourney comped.

Yeah, but that policy only applies to non premium days. The last sessions like the semis and finals don't have that policy attached.

So your ticket from Sunday is still good for the Monday session, right?

I see what you're saying. Nonetheless, I'm betting that many seats will go unfilled at Monday's final, and all that money spent on those tickets will have gone to waste, since the people who can't make it to Monday's final are completely SOL

Mine was. I think that was the standard arrangement, but I can't say for sure.
