How much do you pay for a haircut? - Page 3

£27 ($42) every 6-8 weeks

Although the last two occasions I have used the top stylist who charges £39 ($60) - the first time my stylist was away sick so they charged me my normal rate and I rebooked with him.

The annoying part is when I am booking my next appointment, the reception staff try to sell me Loreal products. My stylist does not bother, she knows I am happy with my current products.

I voted <10$ But, I shave my dome with Gillette Fusion Pro Glide blades, they run about $22 a six pack. I only started shaving my head about 3 weeks ago, so I'm really not sure how often I change blades. To date I've went through 4 of them, but I'm not really keeping my head/face as cleanly shaved as I normally do. I'm doing allot of painting around the house this month, so the scrffy look is in for now. I'm going to estimate I would go through 6-8 blades a month if I kept the shaving up. plus the cost for a can or two of shave cream, and the occasional purchase of preshave oil. All that being said, I would put my hair cut cost estimate at $35-40 a month.

Dam, I can't believe how much some of you pay for a cut. Why tip so much?? $10-$20 in tips seems ridiculous. I get a cut once every two weeks and pay $20 flat.

Buy a Martell Shaving pad! It really works and I can get 3 weeks out of a blade!

A tip of 20% or more is super standard especially if you have a good stylist. You pay as much as I do for monthly hair care so I'm not following your logic at all.

is a 10% tip standard where you live?
Anywhere in the United States that is extremely low.

You do realize that in the states, most stylists rent their stall from the salon owner. When you tip your stylist you are directly supplementing their income, considering they get only a small amount of what you pay the salon. Also, didnt this question come up in the recent past? I drop between 4500JPY and 7000JPY, though the service is outstanding and usually includes a scalp, head, neck, shoulder massage (sometimes a hand massage too), two shampoos, a cut which is pure scissor (No Clippers at all), drink service, and more.

I used to go to a barber always before. Paid $16 plus $2 tip. Last month I went to a salon for a first time and asked for a guy to cut my hair as girls cant cut men hair IMO. So I paid $40 + 13% tax + $6 tip. Thats a 15% tip which I think is good (some people here paying 40% tip make me laugh)...I paid about $52 and was happy with the result. Will now be using a salon every 2 and half months or so. He cut my hair well though I'm not sure if i should have him cut it again or try some of the others who might be even better.
