Shoes for jeans w/ lots of walking - comfort is key

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I'm looking for suggestions for a very comfortable shoe that is still a bit dressed up.

I have a long hike to the nearest metro, and put a lot of wear on my shoes.

I'd like suggestions for 2 options:

1. Sneakers - something very neutral colored that could be work with dark jeans

2. Dressier, dark brown shoes - that would be appropriate for wearing out to the bars, but wouldn't kill me feet.

Thanks!

Even cheaper, with the same overall look, but with different stitching detail than the Jcrew versions.

Im not a fan of sneakers but when it comes to shoes, I would got with Rockports. Cheap, look decent and look comfortable. You wont really care if you spill your beer on them at the bar.

Excellent job Still primitive over here - alot of 'compo' jobs "I slipt with a knife" "I dropped a box on my foot" "I let go of two dual wielded chainsaws and they cut off my legs" etc etc I'm sure you know the game

What is this shit, Rockports are balls. Duck billed or bicycle toed monstrosities.

I think leather soled indy's are probably the way to go. Leather soles have a nicer feel once you get used to them, especially if you're not going to be running and just walking.

"I'm not a fan of sneakers, but here are some shoes that are identical to sneakers and look worse than the Keds you find at Goodwill."

I'm with you on Rockports being comfortable and cheap, and I even think they are really durable...but look decent? Most I've seen look like grandpa shoes. I used them at my last two jobs that required a lot of standing/walking.

This is pretty funny, yet sadly true.
