Good quality blue jeans recommendations?

Very quick and concise.. What would you recommend? I want something durable. I've been running into blue jeans that use denim like rice paper. I have a pair of Abercrombie and Fitch jeans that I like a lot, but when I went to an A and F store the other day the place was a madhouse. It was like a nightclub at 2 am on a Sunday morning. Yes, maybe I'll go there early on a Monday instead of a Saturday afternoon. Any other brands that use reasonably heavy denim? I walked into a Gap store today...I found it all to be crap.

You have to know that the reason people are giving you shit is because there are several ongoing threads on denim with the main one on the front page.
