yeah but we're talking about waist (i.e. round the belly button) rather than round the hips.

I have the same problem as op, to combat that I'm currently on a cut with lots of jogging on the street and HIT on the treadmill / elliptical and low weight with crazy high reps on the leg exercises. Seems to be working. So you may want to try that, may not work though if your on too low of a cal deficit, its a killer.

I've seen people reference the v-shape with your lats...... I have it, its a bitch to maintain and makes your shirts fit funny cuz you always have to buy big to fit your shoulders. If I would of known years ago, I would of trained totally different.
