Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread - Page 469

I believe they switched their sourcing for shell and are limited to #8 and black. It's a bummer but not a total surprise. The quality of their shell over the last few years has been just okay.

I want to get a pair of Grassmere but am unsure about the sizing. I wear a 7.5 in Loake Bedales (Pennine last, G), which is half a size down from my usual 8 and a perfect fit. The Grassmere 6 last is also said to be quite wide. Would you go with a 7.5 or 8 in the Trickers then?

Thanks!

The Grasmere is on the 4497 last. The 6 refers to the width and means wide. Medium width is 5.
Since the Loake G means wide, perhaps you should go same size. But that's just a guess since I have no experience with Loakes.

zippyh!
Tricker's Stow are back thanks to the summer retreating who knows where!

@zippyh, @Marcellionheart

Thanks, guys. Somewhere here I read that the 6 width rather is a wide medium. I'm tending to size 8 as that maybe will leave space for a thin insole which doesn't fit in my Bedales.

I wonder, perhaps, if the shop enables Tricker's to be able to have an address as 'Jermyn Street, London'. A sort of 'symbolic' address rather than as a place that showcases their excellent shoes.

Wow, that's sad to hear. I've always found them to be very helpful and courteous. I'll be back in the UK sometime this year and need to get a shoe resewn so I guess I'll find out their level of interest then.

The Grassmere is a wide boot, even in the toe box. I always wear insoles and went with my true size.

Has anyone seen a Coffee Eaton on sale in a while? It seems like one of the favorites but it's only a special order. If anyone ever decides to do a group MTO, please let me know.

BTW, I ordered a Dainite Acorn Stow a while back with help from this forum and thread and I absolutely love it!
