Nice turf, what I wouldn't do for a nice lawn.

More real than real, made in Normandy, I've had that "lawn" installed on high-end hotels and offices and all the clients were totally bluffed!

@MSAINT Lovely boots. I noticed that the sides are laced completely closed on many of your boots.  Does this make it difficult to get a good fit?  Do you have a particularly shallow foot?

First pair of Trickers: Bourtons on a commando sole from retricker. They don't post shoes in my required 6 fitting that often. Hopefully I'll get lucky with a boot next time.

When I lived in London I seem to recall visiting the store on Jermyn St and not finding anything that fit but maybe I am thinking of the city shoes. These seem ok. Much more arch support than my last pair of heavy Cheaney brogues. The bellows tongue is a bit stuff and seems to have caught my socks. I'm sure that can be mitigated.

About to buy some Trickers stow boots! Sizing help please? Anyone out there can compare the Trickers stow boots to Barrie last or the Trubalance last?
Also anyone deal with Selekt Supply before? They got a pretty sweet deal going on which I found from Reddit????

I think I have regular feet, never had a problem putting on a pair of boots once I have the perfect size.
There are not two Tricker's that close the same even when they are the same model, last, fitting... That's the "hand made" random factor I guess

I'm a US7 in Alden (Indie and Naval boots), US7 in all my Red Wing, UK6.5 in Tricker's (4467S last) and C&J (325, 335 and 365 last)

Is the Trickers stow boot last roomier than the Indy boot Trubalance last?

They're almost the same I'd say, Stow may be a tad roomier

msaint.gif New arrival today from gloucesterquays, the Tricker's Galosh Longwing.
A big thank to Christian Hartery the shop's assistant manager who advised me to go half size down with the 7309/1 4444 last. He was absolutely right, the fitting is perfect! ramasse-miettes.gif

"screwed irons" sounds interesting.
If you could, how does it contrast with the 4497 or 4444. What color is that, C-Shade? How does it compare to Acorn, a photo would be very agréable of you. TIA

Very nice MSAINT.
But I believe that M7309/1 is the style number for longwing boots.

According to the Tricker's Instagram, those are on the 4497.
Of course they also say they don't use the 4444 on that style boot but I've got two pairs of longwing boots on the 4444 last.

Well, that's some kind of literal French to English translation I came up with grubnatz.gif
How do you call these in English without sounding like an SM dungeon master? oizoman.gif?f-ed=1

As stated by Tricker's on their catalogue the 4444 is 1/2 size bigger that the 4497 and is supposed to be roomier in the extensor retinaculum (had to look that name)
I have only tried them on in the house so at the moment, the size 6 in 4444 seems exactly the same as the 4497S in 6.5 il%20a%20ri%208.gif?f-ed=1
As for the color it's like chestnut compared to the acorn witch is quite yellowish (it's night so I can't take a proper picture)

An old photo that can help you see some brown shades used by Tricker's, the Acorn is on the left and the lonwings are a bit like the 4th Stow from the left.

Thanks zippyh!

Well, Richard (Shoehealer) gave me the same info so I guess Christian from gloucesterquays might have mixed the model and the last.
The fact that he told me that I had to size down, after he had tried them on, also supports this info as all my other Tricker's are on a 4497S last (except one on 4444 I never wear (too big, logically I learned the hard way) and should resell)
Richard also told me, after he asked Tricker's, that the LW could be made on a 4467S last but nothing narrower
