I'd get same size in 2298 and 4497.

I agree. The 2298 last is far sleeker, but for most feet it probably would be the equivalent as 4497.

agree that 2298 and 4497 are about the same. but I wear the same size as barrie.

It's a tough question because it comes down to preference and UK sizes don't exactly alight with US. IMHO, go with Barrie size on 4497 & 2298 if you prefer a little more room, wear thick socks, or have a slightly irregular foot shape/volume. Go with .5 down from Barrie if you prefer a closer fit, have a normal foot shape/volume and wear thin socks. Fitting 6 is wide, like an "E" width, while fitting 5 is more like a "D" width, so adjust if necessary.

I have both a 4497 and 2298 in 8.5 UK. 9 D Barrie is perfect on me. I'd say the 4497 is a little wide for me (even with an insert) and the 2298 is a little narrow. If I were to buy again, I might go to a 9 UK on the 2298.

Thanks for the tip, wouldn't have thought of that! Those are great btw. These are my first Tricker's, hopefully not my last.

Out of curiosity, don't you have a problem with the shoes collecting dust? Or did you take them out of the boxes for the picture? Maybe I'm weird even reflecting on such a thing.

Great collection!

Great collection!

Thanks Leaves
Well it's certainly not a problem, I just dust them with the vacuum cleaner (special soft brush nozzle) along with the rest of my stuff every week.
I can assure you that the picture was not posed, that is how I store my boots, on bookshelves!
I haven't kept most of the boxes (I actually use some of them to sore stuff like socks, stationary, shoes laces, whatever...) and find no joy nor interest in stacking boxes with my boots in them as opposed to the real pleasure to see my boots everyday (easier to make a choice on what to wear), and to smell them, that cared nice leather scent mixed with Saphir "beauty" products, it certainly perfumes the corridor

I'm with you all the way on this one, M. Life is too short to put all your shoes into bags and then into boxes. Like you, I have thrown most of my boxes and bags away. A quick dust with a cloth does it for me.
