Damn I was also eyeing that pair for weeks. They look great! How bad is the scuff on the right toe cap?

They're not seconds but I've always found that http://www.bradshawandlloyd.com/trickers can get hold of any instock Trickers shoes from the factory and will do a good price.

Frans Boone actually sell a stubby stow in suede: http://www.fransboonestore.com/collections/trickers/products/trickers-for-frans-boone-two-tone-brogue-boot-leather-heel?variant=7290931201

I've been lurking for several weeks, and this month I got my first two pairs of Tricker's, first the Stow boot in marron followed by the Bourton Country Shoe in acorn. I fear I'm addicted to these shoes, both for the way they look and for how good they feel on my feet. I'm nearly always a US 10 and with both pairs of Tricker's I got a UK 9--the fit couldn't be better. They both felt broken in right out of the box.

This is the pair that arrived today (I ordered them last Saturday), the Bourton Country Shoe in acorn. I absolutely LOVE the color and it will go well with many of the colored jeans, moleskins, and corduroy pants that I have.

And here are the Stow boots in marron, my introduction to Tricker's and what will likely be the beginning of an expensive addiction! :-D

Good choices. Acorn and marron are IMHO the most characteristic colors for the Tricker's brogues. Unusual but not outlandish, versatile too.

That is exactly what I was thinking, meso! I did a lot of research and wanted classic country shoes and that's what I got. They are not so common where I live so they are already getting lots of attention and compliments. I couldn't be happier with the look and feel of these shoes. They exude quality and timelessness to me.

Very interesting that you bought the same size in both and that they fit equally well, as they are different lasts.  I wear the shoes (last 4444) half a size smaller than the boots (last 4497s) and this is the normal recommendation.  Just shows how tricky it can be.

Glad that you love them so much.  My suggestion, wear them, punish them, polish them ... they will look super and last you forever.

How shoes fit is such a mystery! I described how the Stow fit me and the seller said based on that to go with the 9 in the Bourton. I'm glad I did because I want to wear them with thick wool socks. A half size down and I would have been unable to do so.

I think both of these will be getting lots of wear! Question about polish: what brand/color do people here prefer to use for the marron and acorn?

Hi guys,

I need a sizing advice regarding w2298 last, I've found a Robert Derby in size UK 9 which I'm interested to buy.

My only Tricker's experience is a Bourton 4444 Last, tried on in the store in size UK 8, if felt right maybe a touch too short, but perfectly wearable.

I usually wear UK 8,5E in all english shoes: C&J 325 and others last, EG 82/184, Cheaney Avon, Sanders, Loake 026 etc.
Rarely a size 8: Loake Capital, Meermin Ron, but in both case a bit tight and short.

I wear also a US 9.5E on the Alden 1494 Chukka
and US 9.5 E on the C&J Marlow Penny Loafers

Do you think a UK9 in w2298 could work or it will be too big?

Thanks in advance

@alexSF

Too large.

I wear a 7 1/2 in the Robert. I can wear a 7 1/2 in the 4444 althought the last itself is too roomy. A 7 in the 4444 is too short. (The 4444 just doesn't fit me very well). Half a size up from your 4444 size to your Robert size is a maybe - a full size will be too much.

Does anyone know of any current Tricker's sales?  The END sale was great and I don't want to miss out on others ;)

I think a UK9 is going to be too big.
