Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread - Page 447

I'm with you--I haven't been able to get the 4444 to fit ever.

For me, the 2298 is a little tight in the toes, but fits well elsewhere when I take the same size as I do in the 4497s.

So you're saying you think the 4497S runs a little longer in general? Or it's a more nuanced difference with the toe cap area?

I don't think it's any longer. The 2298 is narrower in the toe.

I have found my 4497 too short at 1 size down from brannock. I went 0.5 size down on the 2298 and the boots feel great. It's got a bit more creasing since they are a bit wider, but my toes fit where they are supposed to be.

Up now in the classified for those who are interested, great shoe - I just have too many Commando soles to keep another.

Time for some spring cleaning. All boots are 4-5 years old and have been thoroughly worn. The Trickers, imo, have aged the best.

Anyone have any luck finding a belt that matches the color of Acorn Antique Bourtons? I was about to buy a belt from Tricker's but not sure if I want to spend $120+ on a belt. Thanks!

I'm going to order these for a single MTO- unless there's interest of 5 others for a GMTO. Let me know! Hopefully they'll arrive in time for the 4th of July.

Those are sweet, but I really like these because they subtly chant 'USA' while wearing them. Paired with the fact that they're made in England is pretty cool.

tbh, if you switched the laces out of the Coggles one you'd probably save yourself a ton of dough if you're going for the red, white, and blue look.

Yeah you're probably right. These will be my first pair of Tricker's though and I really want the red lining + white eyelets. Cheaper in the long run than buying and selling something I'm not thrilled with (this is how I rationalize). Besides, I thought SF is supposed to be enabling!

If anyone else is interested LMK.

Very true.

I'm also glad I stopped by to try on a number of pairs, since the lasts and sizing scheme differ considerably from the Aldens with which I'm most familiar. Here are a couple shots from this morning. Acorn on a blue Itshide sole with blue pull tab.

Edit: Question for you guys: what do you use to protect acorn calf leather and how do you care for your boots? Thanks!

Just curious, have you done any conditioning on these? I recently got a pair of Bourtons in the acorn antique leather. Managed to get a stain right on the top of my left foot from a coffee spill on my second day wearing them. I have some Lexol and saphir renovateur (haven't applied either yet but I have been periodically wiping the area down with a damp rag. There's still a noticeable spot that is bugging me.

Jumped on these mogano shell cordovan boots that came through retricker1829. Not wild about the padded top, but probably won't bother me when worn. Not bad for $350 when VAT is taken off. And with the raised prices on cordo and restricted color options, it's now or never right?
