And I'm not just saying this because that pair has been tempting me for a month, but I know I wouldn't really wear it enough to justify the purchase!

Actually, Indy boots are on TruBalance, which is wider than the Barrie by a little bit (but enough to be noticeable for me). Length on the two is basically the same.

My bad, you're right. I noticed the shell boots were on 4444 last, which is also wide, so hopefully advice still holds...

I take 10.5US in Barrie and Tru-Balance and 9.5UK in 4497 and 9UK or 9.5UK in 4444 depending on model.
I think a 9.5UK 4444 is going to be too big for someone who says a 10.5US Tru-Balance is too big.

Those look great.. Half size below.... so if I got a 10uk in 4497s I would need a 9.5UK in these?

I got my Roys in the same size as I do for 4497. Although I was surprised how roomy they are, I would not size down from 4497 size.

Finally, I'm about to join team Tricker's!

These popped up on retricker - Stow in Chocolate brown on the Dainite sole.  There were 2 other sizes listed but they got snapped up within an hour or so.  Anyone here got them?

Sooo looks like I should give up on buying things on Ebay. Didn't take the time to ask enough questions; looked at my Maltons, thought 'well, they're women's, it should be OK', pulled the trigger and ended up with what I think are fake Tricker's. I've emailed Tricker's but don't expect a reply.

Have a look and laugh at (and maybe learn from) someone's mistake :/

they look legit to me. i think trickers calls those the stephy boot. you can remove the heel pad and will find the last number and size stamped to the insole

if those are fake then id like to make an investment in a knock-off maker of authentic trickers
post #6492 of 7378

The Stephy boot is a 7 eyelet one with brogueing on the toe cap, as far as I know. That's what I thought as well, before I actually opened the box and looked at them. I'll see if I can remove the heel pad.

interesting, good to know!

some of the cotton padding that provides the "shock absorption" might get stuck to the bottom but you can be extra careful by pushing it back with a credit card as you peel away the leather pad. could you snap a pic if you could? id be curious to see what it says

Stephy is an open lace boot, those are closed laces.
Do a search on L6439. Those look legit. Seems to be a lady's model aimed at the Asian market.
One example http://maps2002.seesaa.net/article/226970249.html

Seriously, who is going to make a knock off of a lady's Tricker's?

Those don't seem fake to me. I'm no expert but I do have 7 pairs of Trickers in various models and that looks legit. I expected to see a Trickers insole haphazardly glued into some H&M brogue garbage, but the sole, internal markings and insole all look right. It could be a cheaper line intended for sale (it does look like it says it's from the Jermyn st. Collection, which I don't have personal experience with), and clearly a topy sole was added after purchase, but looks like real boots to me. What made you think it's a fake?
