@grizzlygiant Best I could do on a very rainy day - Super comfortable (take half a size below your usual size)

Much as I am very fond of my two pairs of Bourtons, I don't think I will be buying any more. First, I can't afford them!  But, more importantly, I can't seem to wear in the soles. They are so thick and ungiving that I feel as though I will be trying to bend them in 10 years time. Such thick soles, on top of shoes (as opposed to boots) seem to bring a bit of an unbalance between sole and upper.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to how to make the soles a bit more forgiving?

I took a half size smaller after reading some posts! They are still very slightly long but comfortable nonetheless - Shame for yours!

We need to run another GMTO soon 👍🏻

oh really? so you took 1/2 size smaller than typical trickers sizing? brilliant!

I think their sizing is usually rather generous in both length and width and probably done so to cater for thicker socks ?

yeah it would seem so. but the only thing my pair of roy boots can accommodate is a larger foot

I sometimes find they become more flexible after they have got wet. I'm not suggesting you soak them but it might be worth wearing them out when it's wet to see if that helps soften them. Just allow them to dry slowly if they become wet.

With the 4497 last, yeah, I've found that sizing down a full size from US is the wisest move if you want to wear them as dress boots with thin socks and have a relatively normal dimension foot.

Hi y'all

I want to buy a pair of trickers boots, but am new to all of this, so please forgive the ignorant questions on sizing

I wear a 11 in Nike Sneakers, a 10.5 in Cole Haans (which are my best fitting shoes), a 10D in my Allen Edmond Park Avenues (which I dont wear much- I'm a Doctor, so rarely have meetings, and they're not the best for rounding). I wear a 9 in LLbean Duck Boots (I live in Upstate NY). I have a pair of Alden Indy''s from J Crew in 10.5, but they're a tad too big for me

I'm looking at the TrickersxFrans Boone Cordovan Teck boots - I love the color of the leather. Unfortunately, They only have them in size 9.5 UK.

Will this be too big for me? I've read that you should size down between 1-1.5 with trickers from the US size. The Aldens are a smidge too big (probably should have gotten them in 10s). Thus will this be too big for me?

If it is, what other similar leather cordovan colors of Tricker are there? The orange versions I've seen picks of are too bright, and the espresso too dark. So this color war perfect...

Should work if you are a 10 in Alden Barrie. 9.5 UK is my size in Tricker's 4497 last and I'm a 10 D in Alden Barrie last (which is what the indy boots are on).

And I'm not just saying this because that pair has been tempting me for a month, but I know I wouldn't really wear it enough to justify the purchase!

Good Morning!
May anyone please help me with the meaning of the "A" in a circle in the interior of trickers boots?
Thanks!

Have fun with them! They are a great color. Would snag them myself but just not wearing brogues these days.

Thanks, Prince; I will certainly think about that!

I did, of course, mean 'imbalance' in my original post.
