Today, I wore my, very pleasant, MTO for my local shop, green brogue Boughton's. Although they are comfortable, they are not as comfortable as some other shoes I have (including some Dr Marten's). They slip a bit on my heels. I have put in an insole and this helps, but they still slip. There is no pain involved, it's just annoying. These shoes have a very thick and hard sole and I wonder if it is just a case of wearing them until the sole becomes a bit more flexible. It doesn't feel that way, though... When I bought them, I did try a size down, but they would have been impossible to wear; my toes were being crushed.
I have a tentative theory about this. I have noticed that the 'throat' of the shoes - the opening - is quite a bit larger on the Tricker's than on my other shoes. It would make sense, I think, to assume that tightening up these shoes, around the foot, would be more difficult. I would welcome any comments! For me, these were very expensive shoes. With all good wishes, Munky. PS, I have red ones, with the same problems.
