Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread - Page 292

Good man!

There is one issue though, temptation; I find the best trick though is to leave the wallet at the other side of the room where it's too much drunken effort to go and fetch it, and pretend you've forgotten your paypal log-in, otherwise come morning who knows what you've ordered....

Leather Soul Herman Parisian Blue.  I was lucky enough to get them on sale.  I get compliments from women every single time I wear them.

Got my first pair from STP for about $360. I'm digging them.

I just received a new pair of Epsom brogues from Shoehealer, and am hoping the forum experts might be able to assist me in clearing up a mystery.

Last year, I purchased a pair of Epsom in Marron from the Tricker's factory ebay store. (Size 8 1/2, listed as last 6038 L, and Fitting 5.) They are stunning, fit perfectly, and inspired me to now purchase an identically sized pair in Espresso.

That pair arrived today, in ostensibly the same size, last, and fitting, but are noticeably smaller. As in, so much smaller that they are rather uncomfortable to wear!

What on earth could lead to something like this?

Attached is a picture of both shoes, pressed evenly against a baseboard. I swear that the hideous rug is not mine, and hope that it does not dissuade you from helping me.

Any and all assistance would be appreciated, considering that I am utterly baffled and disappointed.

That is very disappointing Harland. I've noticed quite a bit of variation in the different Trickers I've tried on, but this is pretty substantial. Obviously they won't stretch in length! I'd give Richard at Shoe Healer a call/email. He's always been very good when I've spoken to him, so I'd expect him to at least be able to advise you with some degree of authority. Best of luck!

One of those is a factory error.

I noticed that there are lot of complaints with regard to trickers customers receiving shoes with factory defects. Last week i had a problem as well with a stow expresso that i got from shoe healer having a part that develop an awful creasing. Together with shoe healer we found out that the issue was with the leather that was used on that part of the boots which was not a good leather(was cut from a loose part of the hide). Yes shoehealer did replaced it with a new pair but I wonder why a shoe company with a great credibility fails most with their quality control. I wonder if corthay, g&g, or st. crispin's customers also have these kinds of issues. I hope trickers will address it as it is really frustrating for their customers who are expecting great quality of shoes from their company but ends up with a pair of garbage.

Keep in mind that the brands you mentioned cost two to three times more than Tricker's, there is no way they can pick that up in the final inspection without the shoes been worn.

The fault is with the clicker, he probably should use that part of the calf for a part that doesn't get pressure points.

Tricker's "Boorman" from Herring Shoes. On the mysterious 13187 last. I ordered same size as 4497 and it feels similar.
Bellows tongue. A major PITA to take these on and off. Not a good choice for airport security.
Kudos to Herring for using Royal Mail upon request. They had to send each shoe separately though. This must not be uncommon as they included a pre-printed note explaining this.

Indeed you have a point which brings me to a conclusion that if you opt for the best quality and value for your money, i think it would be wise to use the other brands i mentioned. I still love trickers so i think i would still use them despite of the issue/s i encounter with them.

11EEE in Alden Barrie boots. 10.5UK in 6-fitting should be ok? Thinking about getting a pair of Maltons

How would you compare Alden and Tricker's quality wise?
