Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread - Page 283

That looks to be a neat-looking boot. I would pull trigger if I didn't already have alpine grain boots from Alden and if I hadn't dropped mad bucks on green stows and a pair of Alden boots at Frans Boone today. Best of luck finding your final buyer! Looking forward to seeing pics in a few months.

Speaking of the verde stows, here they are straight out of the box (sorry for the crummy iphone 5 pic taken in my dark office):

I'm still amazed at the flawless build quality and how solid and massive the boots are as compared with Alden wingtip boots on Barrie. My only gripe is that End Clothing failed to disclose enough specifics on the nature of the leather, so customs decided to hold the boots for 2 extra days before I got on the phone for an hour and told them that there was nothing to worry about as it is boring ol' aniline calfskin.

Those look awesome! Enjoy

Thanks, ryden. Nice to see some of the Alden brethren chillin with Trickers here. I just caught the fever. Don't know why you gents who have already diversified your collection among other brands haven't been raving more about Trickers. It seems there is not ever a need to worry about build quality. I'm still getting over some of the loose stitches, grossly uneven welt finishings and splotchy dye jobs on some of the Aldens I've handled or bought. I'm not knocking the brand, as I still believe in their aesthetics and that their overall workmanship gets the job done. Trickers just looks to be super consistent from the pics I see on this thread. Very grateful for everyone's posts!

I also forgot to mention a special shout out to my man zippyh. He pointed out the green stows to be when he knew I was fiending enough for a green boot to consider an MTO in green shell. Thanks for saving me hundreds of dollars, zipp!

I am very impressed with Trickers as well. I organized a teak cordovan captoe boots a few months ago that I cannot wait to get. There has been a delay due to Trickers rejecting the leather but hopefully will work out in the next few months

Nice job with those green stows!! Now you've got me thinking about them…they look much better in your photos than on END's site, IMHO.

Thank you, Carson. They're bold. Still working on figuring out some color combos so I look neither like a clown nor a christmas-24/7 nut. I like the solidity of the orange dainite-like soles (they're officially Itshide). Have to break the news to dear wife tomorrow before we reconcile credit cards and bills. Here's hoping I don't end up sleeping on the icy street outside tomorrow...

Best of luck with moving your stows. I've been talking up Trickers on the Alden thread. maybe someone will see your boots and reach out.

@tifosi Welcome, my Alden brother. The water is warm here. Let's mingle, make some new friends and try not to do too much damage to our wallets right off the bat. May we make no sizing errors either, for the likes of the 4497 and 4444 may well be less comprehensible than the Barrie.

@everyoneelse Shall we welcome the ever enthusiastic Tifosi by encouraging him to kopp some Stows, as you did with me just days ago? icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Allan boot in Teck cordovan

Red lining & red pull tab

Brass eyelets

Mid Brown binding along the edge of the facings

Natural Barbour welt

Red Dainite sole

Here is a pic of the Allan boot

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 100

My thinking is that the red accents of the pull tab and sole would look quite nice as it would bring out some of the red tones of the cordovan. All payments would be made directly to Richard and I would not be involved in any way. Total price would be right around $650 including delivery. It would be like $150 deposit and then balance in 10-12 weeks when they are ready.

Please shoot me a PM if you are interested. There is a price increase coming August 1st, but Richard has agreed to hold the price.

Doc, here is an GMTO I organized last summer. It has been delayed due to Trickers rejecting the cordovan. It is possible Richard would be able to accept additional orders as a result...

In discussion with Richard I have learned that if we get 6 total pairs ordered than it is no longer MTO, and the price reduces significantly. Richard likes the makeup enough to order a few pairs for his shop so all it will take is 3 orders in addition to mine. Here is the makeup, I think it will look sick and hope some others may be interested as well...

Stow boot in Teck cordovan
Red lining & red pull tab
Brass eyelets
Toe medallion set back so it is not on the welt
Mid Brown binding along the edge of the facings
Natural Barbour welt
Red Dainite sole

The boot will look similar to this. It will not be identical but will give you a pretty good sense

This is a better representation of the color

Awwww man, I would love to be able to get in on that. My budget is still replenishing, though.

Very nice with the Teck, but I am holding out for something in cotto cordovan, as I have too many boots in brown right now…I posted a cotto MTO that Richard was onboard with a few weeks ago, and we need three people to make it happen. but I haven't heard from anyone serious about it. I absolutely love the cotto color.  Surely, there must be other addicts out there as well??? The price is in the $700 range and, I think he just requires a deposit - payment in full is in 8-10 weeks, so you can replenish your money in the meantime! The one I am proposing has a black lining, though.
