This is my first post on here and it is to raise interest in a group MTO.

I often have the need to wear tough Desert Boots and I would like to put in an order with Richard at Shoe Healer for what, in my mind, would be the ultimate boot for my requirements.

As I will be wearing these in the kind of places where one doesn’t want to draw attention to detail, I am not looking for a “bling” fashion boot.  And as I am a big fan of “anonymous luxury” as I like to call it ….. such as one would enjoy when driving a Bristol (which, I hasten to add, I don’t), I want a top quality boot that only a trained eye would spot.

Here are the specs that I propose:

Burford Boot on 4497s last, Fitting 5.
Gaucho Repello Suede.
Mushroom Binding.
Natural Barbour Welt.
Brown Dainite Sole.
Vintage Green Calf Lining.
Brown Pull Loops.
Four Brass Eyelets, Three Brass Ski-Hooks.
Leather Laces.

Simple, beautiful.

I have posted a couple of images of suede Burfords (with ski-hooks) in other colours and some of Stows in the Gaucho Repello.

Richard has said that the waiting times are growing, so if you would like a beautiful late-spring/early summer Desert Boot, please let me know as soon as you can.

Re. Burford Desert Boots

Only 3 more people needed.

We are getting there!

I just received my first pair of Trickers, Navy Cordovan Stow on Dainite from Re-Tricker.

I'm smitten.
Can't get over how nice and solid these feel.

Thanks to all for the wealth of info in this thread.

Stunning! I want a pair.

+1

Might need a MTO on those.  I have been wanting a pair of Navy Cavalier Blue however those are simply outrageous.  Are they a red Dainite sole or leather.

The problem is that I have so many pairs of Stow's (they are the best model).  I must say that my Eaton Cap Toe MTO from 6 months ago in Lollipop red is great.

How about a Navy Cordovan Eaton cap toe on an all leather sole natural Barbour welt?  Any takers?

Thanks, guys.

They're on Brown Dainite. I wanted commando for a true foul weather boot, but considering these cost the same as a new pair of Calf Stow's I really can't complain.
All I know is I'm hooked on the 4497, and Tricker's in general. My experience with boots in this price range has pretty much been limited to Alden, and I can say that Tricker's slays Alden when it comes to this type of footwear. (Viberg is pretty awesome as well, though)

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out my size on the 4497 and was able to pull a lot of info from this thread.
I'm a US 12D, 11.5 in Alden Barrie/Tru.
These are UK 11 and I think they're perfect.

pretty much spot on sizing recommendation for me as well. 8D/7.5D Barrie/7 UK 4497.

Tricker's quality is great for the price. But I still think that Alden bests Tricker's in the cordovan category. Viberg looks great, but I can't see the value in them compared to Tricker's.

I completely agree on the quality of Alden Cordovan (Horween) vs. Trickers (Comipel?)

However, Tricker's does offer some pretty nifty colors (the Iris cordo MTO referred to on this thread is bananas).

As for Viberg, only time will allow me to form a thorough opinion, but as of now I think the workmanship is a step above Tricker's in terms of sheer durability, and their materials are superior, IMO.

Still, with Viberg starting ~$700 for a calf boot it's not a fair comparison.

Tricker's seems to provide a winning combination of durability and comfort for the price. I'm excited to build a collection.

I shipped my Tricker's boots I had purchased from ReTricker to Richard at Shoehealer for a change of soles . I went from a commando sole to a Dainite sole. What a fantastic job they did and the customer service Richard and Michelle provide is unmatched and phenomenal as always.
Here is a before photo and 2 after photos.
