Man, I was really going to get an AS Hannover as my grain boots, but these ones have me considering them instead. Decisions, decisions....

That HSSUB20 20% off code seems to still be valid.

Yeah, I think through the end of the month.

Man, I think the Tricker's Steeple look higher quality than the AS Hannover's. Starting to lean that direction...

I have the Steeple boot and love them.  They are well made and look great.  They do have a much rounder toe than the Hannover though.

I received my Mogano cordovan Chukkas today. The color is much closer to Alden #8 than I was expecting. There are a lot of deep purple and red undertones to the brown, a really rich color.

A big thank you to calikid for spotting them for me

Not usually a fan of chukkas, but those look great. I remember trying some small-run chukkas Richard had the frist time I visited Shoe Healer and they felt very odd (read: unfamiliar) on the ankle - I',m sure they'd break in great though.

Herring have some nice make-ups too - I was looking at their Scafell model a while back, but from what I gathered from the Trickers site 2298 last is narrower than 4497, so probably wouldnt suit me.

Thank you.

These are on the 2161 last not the 2298. I am not sure how that compares?

I've been comparing the same boot, as well! Tough choice. 20% off makes the decision even tougher.

Dainite vs. Commando sole. The Steeple has a bellows tongue, too.

I've got a pair of AS Tweed wingtip boots which I believe are the same as the Hannover. They're on the 87 last.
They're pretty comparable to the Stows.

The AS 87 last seems relatively sleeker than the 4497 but only in comparison.

Those look awesome!   I am glad you got them, you will be very happy with the color as it ages.

What are main differences between 4444 and 4497?

I remember them differing in the instep room maybe?

edit: found the answer - 4444 is a bit more generous width wise if I distilled the information from prior pages in this thread right.

Hope you weren't a size 11UK.

Just grabbed the last in stock Steeple. Figured I am still after the AS Radwell, so didn't want to go with Hannover as well. Plus, I'm not sure I'm a fan of the commando sole (I hate rocks getting stuck in my soles!).

Still was a hard decision as the 20% off makes them both very attractive!

The monkeys are great - if they didn't have a natural welt I'd be tempted!
