Here you go...

One of the pairs of laces as supplied, the other retro fit. Can't decide. Opinions, please! PM to avoid cluttering the thread?

On many pairs of Tricker's, the last number can be found under the heel cushion along with the UK shoe size - think it's been mentioned on here before but Richard mentioned it to me a while ago when I was trying to find out on what last my Skipton boots were made. He was good enough to post me a couple of new cushions to replace the ones I'd removed.

I assume there's a 4 for narrow but I can't recall every seeing one.

You'll sometimes see 4-fitting shoes and boots on eBay or find them in charity or vintage shops - I'm assuming that it used to be a commonly-available fitting, but it could just be that all the ones I've seen (around three or four pairs) were made to order. I'm pretty sure that my Skipton boots are a 4-fitting.

Sometimes they write both model name and number.

Sometimes there's neither.

Sometimes they write it in crayon. These two were from ebay factory store so they might not count as "normal".

Hey, Zippyh could you please tell us more about the AS Hamish compared to the Tricker's you own (Sizing, quality, comfort...)? transparency.gif

I just got the Hammish the other day from Shoe Healer.
Quality: they seem pretty comparable to Tricker's.
Comfort: just got them and haven't worn them except to make sure they fit.
Sizing: they're on the 87 which is narrower and sleeker as compared to the 4497/4444 lasts. I went 1/2 size up from my usual 4497/4444 size.

I'm probably going to put them away for a few months now. I had debated getting them since it's not the season for them but the pebble/tweed/light edge trim combo was just what I wanted.

I agree, the light brown laces match the sole, so it's a perfect combo IMO.

This is what I (can't really smile.gif) see inside the shoe. I can distinguish M3616 in the second line, but the rest...

Slightly better in the other shoe:

I checked the pair of Tricker's I own. First row had six digits, but I have no ideas what those numbers mean. The second row showed the model number and the third row was for size and fitting. The only way I was able to figure out which last my shoes were on was that the last was provided on the price sticker.

Thanks, Biggen.

Let's try:

M3616 (says so on the box too)
5.5 (?)

The last line is probably "9 5" as in size and fitting.
A lot of ebay listings interpret that as size 9.5 but Tricker's usually write half sizes as "9 1/2".
