I hope that you have removed that ugly wax build up before dyeing.

Picked up a Malton recently and have come to realise that Fitting 6 is the best for me. Fitting 5 is too tight around the toes and I have to half size up for a comfortable fit. Now my question is how does the 4444 last compare to the 4497 last in terms of width?

I Have both lasts on boots and I find the 4444 way more wider than the 4497.
The 4497 is an absolute perfect fit for me and the 4444 has to be worn with super extra thick wool socks.... perfect in winter but way less versatile than my other boots in 4497.

^ Thanks! Appreciate your feedback. Was looking thru this thread and there doesn't seem to be much difference between 4444 & 4479 boots in photographs.

Would love to hear more feedbacks from others. It would be rather sad if I'm limited to Fitting 6 boots. Don't wish to half size up anymore cause they are starting to look like clown boots on my feet!

Best think would be to ask some good advices from Shoehealer... they also can arrange to send several with. and lasts for you to try (for a small fee) if you don't have a Tricker's dealer close to your place. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

just got my acorn stows 1 week ago, love them alot, was wondering if theres a way to darken the leather just a tad. although i love the contrast of these boots with dark denim, i would really like to know how to antique them just a bit

thanks

Dark polish...or a light coat of pure neatsfoot oil...

Mike, it's very easy to do, use a dark brown Saphir pommadier surfine type of cream (or equivalent), the acorn will turn light brow and will get darker every time you repeat the action...

Bunch of new tricker's up on STP now.  Mostly the W2298 last, which I guess is a bit slim

compared to the 4497s last.  You can get a discount that brings them to about $300.

Thoughts?
