Actually, Tricker's might be the only maker that currently offers a longwing boot. Afaik, they're all either shop MTOs or individual MTOs. Besides, what's wrong with stock boots or goods in general?
I don't know what it takes for footwear to qualify as special for you. I don't need nor care for my shoes/boots to be special. If I think they're nice, then that's good enough. In this particular case, I like all the design elements individually: the longwing boot design, upper leather, brass eyelets, natural edge, etc. I also happen to think they're aesthetically pleasing and coherent together.
More often than not, the urge/desire for something special just leads to Frankenshoes (Prada espadrille wingtip creepers anyone?). Oh, those are definitely special, they're also fugly as hell. Same can be said of the current trend of putting Vibram Christy soles on everything...Edited by Wes Bourne - 2/19/12 at 5:20pm
