Cross posting in C&J thread, taking a poll:

Tricker’s Bourton in espresso or Crockett & Jones Pembroke in dark brown wax calf?
Well, the Tricker's is chonkier and the C&J slightly more streamlined. But both look good.
What's your style, more casual outfits and casual suits or sharper clothing and structured suiting?
In fairness, I would wear either for both of those options so...

Depends on usage. Bourton works better as a casual look but Pembroke is certainly sleeker and would work better with more formal attire.

If you can't decide between the two, this model of Bourton is readily available in sales and so can be picked up much more cheaply.

Yep, once more - very nice. Have you thought of paying a cobbler to convert the, maybe top 4 eyes to hiking-boot style hooks? I've done that on quite a few boots and it works well. It helps the middle section keep tight, which I prefer. I see in your photo the middle lacing section is splayed, which personally I prefer to find a solution to for boots. Recently, many shoe/boot makers have started to make models with these hooks from half way upwards. Although it's true that it starts to look a bit like a city/country boot - hiking boot hybrid. The hooks or loops need to be good quality and free running, otherwise they wear the laces out. Something I've not been demanding enough in the past with the cobblers I've used.

Unfortunately, this is probably what I'll end up doing
With fear - for being asked to leave the thread - I must say the C&Js look fantastic. I do like the slightly narrower and stylish shape, while it still remains a sturdy shoe suitable for country or town, and obviously excellent C&J craftmanship. I'd wear them casual, formal (season permitting), jeans, chinos, anything.

I'm going to wager that this may have crossed Crafty's mind.
