Critique my Barney's warehouse buy

Bought this suede jacket today at the Barney's warehouse sale today in NYC. From a brand called Spurr. Still felt overpriced even at 65% off.

I'm not sure about the pockets, they're kinda large. Also not a big fan of epaulettes.

I'm thinking of maybe having the pockets and epaulettes removed for a cleaner look. The stitching is pretty narrow so it looks possible. Here's a quick photoshop to show what that would look like:

Opinions? Keep as-is? Modify?

Would look way better without the pockets imo.

Your post infers that you don't really like the jacket that much and bought it because it was on deep discount. If you don't think you will wear it on a regular basis, I say go return it. I think it looks OK, fits you nicely albeit the sleeves look a bit too long? I actually like how it is now as oppose to the PS'd version...which is too plain Jane IMO.

spurr is a real high quality brand and pretty expensive. Simon is a big stickler when it comes to god being in the details and his raw jeans and fabrication for his collections attest to that

looks pretty nice to me as is. fits well too, albeit a bit short for my taste

that jacket is nice and fits you well. I don't know if the pockets can be removed anyway, but it looks fine as is.

Looks really cool, I would wear it all the time.

If you've got the right climate to wear it I'd rock that plenty. Spurr is quality. I think you should remove the epaulettes and keep the pockets.

It's a little short and I have no idea what he was thinking with those pockets. Spurr really is good stuff though.

I do like the jacket and I think I will wear it pretty often.. I'm just torn on whether to keep the bits that are not normally my style, like the epaulettes. Maybe I just need to wear it a bunch and let it grow on me.

Appreciate all the comments. Agree that the sleeves would be better a bit shorter.

I agree with R6 that the pockets are weird. However, I think it looks boring without pockets and epaulettes. That front needs detailing of some kind.

Nice Fullcounts btw. I'd leave the jacket as is...

I wouldn't change anything on it. If anything goes, I suppose it'd be the epaulettes, but I'd wear it as is.
