Oh yeah, "It's My Life" or whatever by, I think, Gwen Stefani.

1.) Behind the Music: New Edition has been running on VH-1 for a few weeks, so that might explain why "Cool it Now" is cropping up.

2.) I saw that someone cleared up the fact that No Doubt's version of "It's My Life" is a cover of the Talk Talk original.

3.) "Smiley Faces" from Gnarls Barkley has been occupying to much of my short-term memory of late -- great song. "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor gets me everytime, so does "Let the Music Play" by Shannon.

4.) Now I have two of those songs going on right now. This is an evil thread.

I almost never get songs stuck in my head, but when I do they're usually songs I like anyway. What's weird is a lot of times I'll have a song that I haven't heard in years stuck on my head when I wake up.

Far more frequently though, I get rap lyrics stuck on my head, usually just a bar or two.

Straight outta Compton, crazy motherfucker named Ice Cube,
from the gang called Niggaz With Attitudes,
when I'm called off, I got a sawed-off,
squeeze the trigger, and
ENOUGH ICE CUBE I KNOW THE SONG

You bastard.
That amazingly obnoxious song was part of the regular rotation of shitty music pumped over-loud at my gym for at least six months, and I had only recently managed to begin to forget about it . . .

Embarrassed to admit but "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani and "London Bridge" by Fergie (which is basically a Hollaback Girl ripoff) I heard this song on the radio and then I couldn't get it out of my head.

From the tango thread I now have the classic tango song played in the Scent of a Woman sequence stuck in my head. At least it's pleasant.

Walked by the nearby speed shop on the way to the mailbox, and what was parked there but an early Alfa Spyder. Naturally...

Where did you go, Joe Dimaggio, doo doo doo dodoo doo doo doo dooooooo...

Actually the instrumental part was playing, but it sometimes breaks into lyrics.

A bad one for me was Zombie by the Cranberries.
Back in the mid 90s when I had a bad meth habit, I'd lay in bed coming down unable to sleep all night with that song blaring through my head. Specially the way she pronounces it was killing me; zo"¢om"¢bie! zo"¢om"¢bie!
Love the song but that was torture.

Hinder -- "Lips of an Angel." Been getting heavy airplay 'round here. I almost like it, which makes it stick worse.
