Solid natty CXL shoe. Very nice indeed.

And @Portland Dry Goods goes full SW&D Rancourt!

So got my CM beef rolls. I thought the suede be smoother, but seems kind of nappy. Looks like a rough out / reverse suede - wonder if anybody can confirm. Wonder if this would be too heavy for a beef roll summer shoe:

Think the above would be better suited for a boot. Regardless the construction is solid

Any thoughts on this boat shoes and the price? With the 15% off, they are about $380

The shoes are wonderful and the price is wonderful too. Shell cordovan is also a wonderful leather for actual boating, as it's water resistant and rugged, yet will brush up to still look nice.

Khaki? It's a roughout I believe. It was a shock when I received mine, especially with how soft the snuff was. Your loafers look great, though.

Rancourt does a finer nap suede that they call Repello, though not in that color. I believe they price all suede the same on their site, so I'm not sure why CM would choose this one in particular. It's unlined right? That may have been a consideration. Rancourt only seems to offer the Repello suede lined.

I think this makes a fine casual shoe. The beefroll style is fairly casual, IMO. That being said, not sure you ought to keep them and have the money in them if they're not really what you want and you can return them. The thing with Rancourt is that you can actually get what you really want.

Agree with wdahab on all points. These ought to be fantastic shoes and that's a very good price.

Anybody know what type of suede is the above? Repello or orion? Sorry, CM doesn't give the description. Think it be a good fall boot. Still on the fence about the beef roll.

My first and only pair of Rancourts are Loden Repello suede which came lined. I find them pretty warm for the Summer. Anyone have recommendations for an unlined leather that would be more comfortable for the Summer?

I just purchased these not too long ago. I would have actually purchased them before then, however they never had my size in stock when they went on sale before then. They come unlined and on a comfortable sole, they're a fabulous Summer shoe.
