RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine - Page 311

I'm looking to get a pair of the weltline penny loafers in tan calfskin. The problem is I live in Sweden and the shipping / duty costs are outrageous, to the point of adding close to $200 to the price. My father is in New york from this weekend until next wednesday, is there any possibility of me getting my hands on a pair by then that he can bring back with him? Would really appreciate the help. If not, recommendations for shoes with a similar aesthetic are welcomed, by pm if not suitable for this thread.

Brooks Brothers carries them online and very well may carry them in their flagship store on Madison Ave. Call the Madison Ave store to see if they have them and/or could order them.

Edit: Seems that they only have black and brown online. Still, call the store; they often carry different items. If this doesn't work out, never hurts calling Rancourt to see what they can do.

I couldn't find the weltline penny on the Brooks Brothers online store, do you have a link? Thanks!

To clarify, I'm trying to get ahold of these this weekend / next week either by post or in person in NYC:

Again, as I said above, don't have the tan online, but call the store as they often carry different stock, particularly the flagship.

BB didn't carry the tan version, but they did have a pair of "dark brown" in my size in stock. Couldn't get a hold of Rancourt yet. I guess I really shouldn't settle however, burgundy just doesn't really fit the summer bill in my mind.

Sorry to hear that. I certainly would keep trying Rancourt. I believe all colors of the model you are interested in used to be ready to wear options for Rancourt. Perhaps they have a pair laying around.

Thanks for the help, I talked to Rancourt and they said they wouldn't be able to ship the weltline until july and had 0 stock. Feels like I'm back to square one. All I really want is a high quality non-beefroll tan penny that has the discrete seams at the front like the weltline. I hate making hasty decisions.

Have you checked out AE?

I have, but nothing that I've found feels right. This is basically my dream penny: http://www.harrisonlimited.com/harrison_footwear/alden-leisure-hand-sewn-penny-loafer-in-burnished-tan/

Anything that gets close to it and doesn't surpass $350 and can be delivered to NYC before wednesday gets my money.

Those are quite the conditions! Well good luck, but what about some Carmina loafers from Skoaktiebolaget? They are just over $400, but I'd pick them over the AE anyday and possible over the Alden. They have a much better shape.

Thanks for the good luck wishes, I guess they are. It would all be possible if BB had just stocked the tan Rancourt though so I'm counting myself a bit unlucky. Since I'm actually in Sweden, the Carmina loafers are around $600 from Skoaktiebolaget ;) Regardless, I prefer a lighter tan color.

Right. Stupid VAT! Sorry. I should have assumed that you'd looked into that.

Brooks brothers has rancourt welt line penny loafers on sale right now, though not sure if they carry your size. I believe they offer 2-day shipping. Check out their website for more info.
