Are there any Rancourt stockists in Los Angeles or San Francisco (LA preferred)? Anywhere at all I can try on a pair? I want to try the natural CXL in particular, but would be open to purchasing a variety of other browns.

Am not looking for the Brooks Bros. variant, and I know Taylor Stitch carries some. Are there any other retailers?

Just got these guys. I knew I wanted navy, but spent a lot of time deliberating over the other colors. I ultimately went with a honey camp sole, nickel eyelets, and white thread. I usually wear a size 6D (small feet, eh) but because everyone's been sizing down, I tried the made-to-fit shoes in 5D and 5.5D. Despite a lot of heel slippage in the 5.5D Venetians that Rancourt sent, my big toe felt crammed, and the fit was downright tight with any socks, so I got these Rangers in a 6D. I didn't want to size down to where they were a bit uncomfortable and assume they would stretch an adequate amount, because tight shoes are the worst! These Rangers are loose without socks, fit well with socks, and are tight with thick socks (I'd like to be able to wear them without, and with all manner of socks).

So how much the cxl going to stretch? I walked around the block and had to tie them pretty tight without socks.

Ideally the shoes should be tight on first wearing.
Theoretically, if they are loose then they shouldn't stretch as you aren't going to be applying a lot of force on the leather beacause there is already enough space inside.

Wearing them without socks might be another thing all together and they may feel too loose.

You'll probably get many different opinions on this. But my unlined ranger mocs did not stretch much at all. I'm glad I did not size down or they would be too tight.

So how comfortable are the standard camp soles? Seems like most opt for the RLH or other optional soles? I'm looking to buy a pair of Ranger Mocs and am trying to decide between the regular camp sole or the new Reltex Aspen. The camp soles look so thin, is there any cushon at all? Just unsure about how any of the thicker soles would look with shorts.

I own 3 different pair of shoes on the camp shoe and find them all extremely comfortable

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there any cushion built into the insole at all? I'm sure I need to quit over thinking this and order a pair. Just trying to make them as versatile as possible where I can wear them to work with jeans or chinos plus sockless on the weekends with shorts and jeans.

RLH soles are extremely comfortable - lots of cushioning. But I think the camp / deck soles look better for summer and shorts.
