CXL will likely end up creasing much more than what you are seeing now. Could be because of the hides, I suppose, but also probably because your feet are slightly different. I think all of my leather shoes crease differently within pairs because my feet aren't the same. Enjoy wearing! CXL is tough and looks great with age.

Received my remake of my #8 shell rangers. Like night and day. These are absolutely beautiful, wonderfully made, and are going to be amazing this summer. Completely different feel than the previous pair, which felt nothing like shell cordovan, were dry, brittle and cracking. These are a lovely color and nice and rubbery feeling.

I'll get some pictures up later, but suffice it to say, these are going to be amazing. These and my natty shell beefrolls are going to get absolutely worn constantly this summer.

Of course, now I'm onto thinking about getting a pair of natty shell rangers on a crepe sole.

Good to hear.

I'm also looking forward to wearing my Rancourts this year. Between the #8's, Green shells, Caramel Shells, and Blue CXL, I think I'll have most of the bases covered.

guys, I could use some advice as I feel like an idiot for just digging into this.

2 years ago my gf got me these for my birthday, yeah she loves me.

unfortunately.. I rarely wear them. the sole is narrow and it just never felt right on my feet, so they end up hurting if I wear them for too long.

but they're so beautiful.. any change rancourt would help me out? or should I try to privately sell these and get new ones? baldy[1].gif

They can deff recraft wider. Dunno exactly how much. The sole itself would have to be a different width, plus cxl will stretch a lot with wear. Try walking around with them for a day with socks on, then go sock less.

Did they replace the cord in your remake since you were having cracking issues? Or just condition them? Gorgeous shoes, and hello from MFA!
