Size down a half size, but they're a touch slimmer than the last that Rancourt uses for their Ranger Mocs.  I take an 8.5 in both their Ranger Moc and Beefroll, but they beefroll is definitely more snug.  That said, that's a good thing, as you need a loafer to fit more snugly, as you don't have laces to compensate for stretching/heel slip.

I know it's not the same shoe, but you can get the more formal Rancourt penny loafer in black and brown on sale for $217 at Brooks Brothers right now, among other Rancourt footwear:

Do their penny loafers fit similarly to their venetian loafers? I recently bought a pair of the Brooks Brothers cordovan venetian loafers that seem to fit pretty TTS; if anything, they seem to run slightly small; I definitely could not have sized down in them.

I've looked at that shoe a few times and I think I've concluded it's neither fish nor fowl. If I wanted a dressy loafer, I'd want something more elegant than that one; and, if I wanted a casual shoe, the finish on that one is too formal. I can't imagine a middle ground where I'd wear that shoe.

No idea there.   I would assume it's the same last, but keep in mind that shell doesn't really stretch, but CXL stretches quite a bit.

All I can tell you is that I'm a 9 on the brannock (maybe just a touch over), and the 8.5D Rancourts beefroll in CXL fit me perfectly.

I'm planning on picking up some boat shoes from Rancourt and I was thinking of doing this make-up. Just wondering what people thought.

2 eye Boat Shoes

Golf Green CXL

Brass Eyelets

White stitching

Tan Calfskin Lining

Chestnut Laces

White Boat sole

I like it, but would go unlined instead.  White laces would look pretty good too.

from what I know #8 is more of a reddish brown, but not quite burgundy.

I did the tan lining because I heard it helps break them in if you wear it without socks. That and I thought it went well with the laces and eyelets.

Blake wingtips.

I'm going to take these into my local cobbler and see if he can put a suede strip in at the heel. I think that will help my slip issue.

Those look like one of the makeups that I was looking at. Is that natural CXL with RLH soles?
