Thanks so much! I am really psyched with how both makeups turned out

Rydenfan what's your thought on the color and look of the espresso shell

I am very pleased with it. The color is much more uniform than the sample I had and is a rich brown without being too dark. It is not quite as polished but some repeated brushing will do wonders.

Try some Venetian Cream. Puts a great shine on shell.

Thanks. Not worried about it at all as heavy brushing will take care of it. Just noting that the finished as not as polished looking as Alden

Well, I couldn't take it any longer and came home early... Here are a few pics, ENJOY :)

Espresso shell Ranger Moc
Matching brown stitch
Antique brass eyelets
Waxed cotton laces
Leather midsole with natural stain and tan stitching
Montello mini lug sole (near identical to the stitched in commando Alden does)

Bravo Zulo, very well done!

Every since CaliKid had his Espresso Blake's built last fall I have been thinking of a good use of the Espresso shell. Been lurking a long time on this thread going back and forth on options. Have had my eye on the Taylor Stitch Ranger Moc in #8 CXL with mini lug sole: http://taylorstitch.com/collections/shoes-by-rancourt-and-co/products/color-8-chromexcel-ranger-moc and the price recently went up from $250 to $275. Sounds like a good excuse to get the shell and close to the same build instead for just a "little bit" more

Because of you I purchased a pair of Alden Ravello chukka's from Alden Madison NYC a few weeks ago when you turned me on to the availability of them (and thank you!). With summer coming I could see myself actually getting more use out of these in the same exact makeup which I would also choose than most of my other shoes\boots after work when you add it all up. They are perfect and exactly what I have been thinking about lately, despite removing 8 inches of new snow from the driveway once again today. IMO you created a work of very functional art, and it is outstanding. Again very well done and I hope you enjoy them!

One of our customers' MTO shoes;

Bison with a leather lining and a nice lug sole to keep the slush away.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad I was also able to help you on the Ravello chukkas as they are a beautiful boot. I think you will be very pleased should you decide to order this makeup. I especially love the "commando" sole as I was unsure as to exactly how theirs would turn out. I have seen some that are quite thick and bulky; however, Rancourt's is much more in the style of Aldens where it is low-profile and stitched in. I foresee this pair getting a lot of use.

These are really nice. Great looking makeup and something a little different.

Also, is this the smoke bison color? Is is grey or a dark brown?

I had a couple questions about the beef roll camp mocs with chromepak soles. Hopefully you guys may be able to help.
http://www.rancourtandcompany.com/made-to-order/men-s/shoes/beefroll-camp-moc-brown-chromexcel.html

1) If I go MTO and get natty CXL, would the chromepak sole change colors too? The pictures make it look like a stock color.

2) Does anyone know how chromepak holds up in moisture? I'm not talking about anything extreme, just walking around after it rains.
I don't know how it holds up, but they have different colors. This boot is made of it on the uppers:
