RANCOURT & Co. Shoes - Made in Maine - Page 196

Thanks!

That's the leather and model/style decided.  Now I just need to decide on the soles for my 3rd pair of ranger mocs.

Here's the inspiration.  You think these can be pulled off with chromexcel?

The navy will be easy but the coffee leather that Trickers is using is very unique. I am actually currently doing an MTO Trickers that will be similar to this. However, it is will a traditional saddle style with a plain toe as opposed to a wingtip and will have a Dainite sole. If this is the look you are after you could likely get in on the order I am building. PM me if you want...

here is an image of the shoe itself but I am doing coffee and navy leather

I think it's a bad ass shoe. CXL won't shine up quite as much, and won't be as golden as in your inspiration pic. However, given time and patina it will get to a color that might be more like what you want, considering your previous post had you picking Espresso for your shell. Note that the tool is not accurate in its color depictions for shoes. Espresso is generally much, much darker than how they show it. If you want a dark brown, natural CXL will be great. If you want a golden color, then it'll be terrible, and what you'd want isn't offered on the custom tool (wheat CXL or tan bulldog). So natural shell would be better.

As for the schema you made, I prefer to have the foxing (the rear piece) on a spectator shoe be different from the quarters. So instead of having the vamp and wing one color, and the quarters and foxing a different one, I'd make the vamp, wing and foxing one color and the quarters a different one. Or the wing and the quarters matching, and the vamp and the foxing matching.

Also, to help us out, when adding an image, use the image tool which lets you embed the image in your post, not the attachment tool.

Wow, you guys are good.  Identified the shoe even.

Here is another view (why I styled two-tone and not saddle):

Note the Rancourt foxing overlays the quarters, so I don't think you could make it a saddle.  It may work, not sure.

Agreed on all counts about CXL vs standard leathers (I am in fact disappointed no bulldog showed up).  I was already thinking Caramel rather than Espresso if I went shell.

Rydenfan, the MTO looks interesting.  I'll mull on that option for a bit.  I was kind of digging the wing.

As far as embed vs attach, I was surprised on the my original post (thought the picture would show).  Obviously have found embed!

These will look so good if you can get the leathers worked out.

Have people gotten any "your order has started to be made" emails from Rancourt yet for their custom shoe deal? Not in a super hurry, just curious.

I didn't get that for the order I placed in mid-May.

There was an email from Katie Grise, then nothing until they shipped the shoes.

Cool. I got one for the order I placed a few weeks back, it's just a nice feeling to know "there's no turning back, it's on!"

Edit: heh, okay, so just got that email. So either they're reading this (in which case, is there a tracking # on my shell loafers? Wondering if they indeed went out today, which would let me get them from FedEx tomorrow!) or just a great coincidence!

When they emailed me last week they provided me with a tracking number and link in a PDF file. They arrived to the Toronto area in a few days, and i've enjoyed them since.

Two different orders. smile.gif I got the "in process" email about my #8 ranger mocs, but my natural shell loafers were supposed to ship this week as well.

Natural CXL Ranger Mocs with a little more wear:

I've somehow resisted buying anything during the sale, but I have the feeling I'm going to cave soon.

Calikid, you always seem to have some of the ballsiest ideas when it comes to MTOs.  (Frank has some good ones too.)  What are the other specs on the your order?  Or are you going to let the suspense build?

Got the email today saying the green shells are in production...

Green shell, Black deerskin lining, black eyelets, Black Cotton Laces,

Montello Minilug sole w/hell & Dark brown edge stain
