Great looking shoe. I have been asking that same question here and there, and the general and overwhelming response has been "no". I'll pass along one of the responses I've gotten to you, "why don't you try them and let us know".

thats crazy enough that it just might work

The #8 does look good with the honey LH soles. Another potential option to pair with #8 in the same color would be the Vibram mini-lug, like RW uses on their Wabash (made by Rancourt?).

I'm thinking about turning the Chili Latigo ranger moc:

Into a country ranger w/ crepe sole. Any thoughts?

^ imo the chili definitely looks better with a lighter color sole.

The beefroll loafers in #8 Chromexcel. My first pair of loafers since I was 11, and I'm really impressed with them so far.

Thanks, guys! Question--the sides bow out a bit when I stand. Nothing too noticeable, but is that normal for loafers, or do I maybe need to look at a wider size?

Of course--my apologies.

Interesting, I've got some gapping on my Rancourt beefrolls and am pretty sure it is because they are too wide. On the other hand, I think there's always going to be a little gapping on shoes that don't lace tight.

Also, has anyone seen the green shell ranger mocs with the honey sole? I have a definite feeling that they are in my very near future.

Thanks--I have really flat feet, so I think that's part of the issue. I may also be over-analyzing, which I know is unheard of on SF.

I'm trying to resist the green shell as well. It's beautiful.

I know. Get one in the ranger moc and have them make up another style for you in the other. :D

I don't think I'll be able to resist the green shell... I hope that you really enjoy those beefrolls. I've had mine for the better part of a year and they start out comfortable and then become more so.
