^^ I have my spectacles on now, and I'm even more impressed. Sorry I didn't realize that the bag and the ranger mocs were #8 x CXL. Awesome. Very nice combination. I think the ranger mocs look fantastic.

Don't Mourn organize. What a name. Is that the messenger bag? Bit hard to see in this photo. But it looks great!

Yes, Scott = unlucky, but I think email will work better to keep track your discussion.
It's a tote bag, inspired by filson ones but I have flaps installed at the top and the handles from one of Hermes tote from few season back (a lot of bag maker is doing this style now), but mind you, leather is heavy.

I put my navy CXL ranger mocs with the RLH soles through its paces over the Memorial Day weekend. Wore them during a 3 day vacation out of town and they worked great. My experience with crepe sole is limited to a pair of Rancourt chukkas I also bought recently, but I think the RLH sole is firmer while still providing great and comfortable cushioning. They also seem to pickup a lot less dirt than the crepe sole. I'm very pleased with the RLH sole and will probably try to get the chukkas re-soled with RLH once the crepe sole wears out.

The back of the belt. The lighting and flash make the bump on the right more pronounced than it is in real life.

Unless you simple don't care for the way the back looks, I'd say the construction is really top notch. The thickness of the belt hardly varies and you can see how carefully they have shaved down the leather at the two joints to create an even transition. I don't think the photos really do the workmanship justice, except to show that it's really hard to see. The shell is immaculate (until I wear it a few times, of course), as is the stitching. A fine piece of work.

I was on the fence about the RLH vs Crepe and the fact the RLH picks up less dirt def sways me towards it.

Has anyone purchased a pinch penny or welt-line penny with the RLH sole? What colors does RLH come in besides honey and the dark brown (on Rancourt site, the suede ranger mocs)? I was thinking about a pinch penny with the walnut-ish pebbled leather from the Rancourt blog and a honey colored RLH sole. So hard to visualize these things.

^^ Haven't seen any pinch penny or weltline loafers on the RLH sole. There was a pic of a shell color 8 beefroll loafer on the RLH on the Rancourt FB page, but that is, I think, the only loafer I've seen on the RLH. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the RLH comes in only honey and the dark brown. Or at least that is all the options that have been seen or mentioned.

The design combination you described sounds like a winner to me.

So what's the break-in period with these? I just received a pair of ranger mocs with the RLH sole and I have to say that right out of the box they're not very comfortable. Am I alone here?

Really? I thought my ranger mocs with RLH sole were very comfortable right off the bat. I ordered my Brannock size and they were very slightly on the loose side but can be tightened with the laces. If your discomfort is due to the shoes being snug/tight, and it's made with CXL, it should loosen up pretty fast and you should be good as long as the shoes aren't too short for your feet.

I have the tempest sole but my pair was very comfortable right out of the box.
