There always will be one piece that outshines the other lesser quality pieces. for V&R it was the peacoat while the sweatshirt suffered. I only wish for the same good ratio that +J has with Uniqlo. But even if Alber and Lucas get H&M to bend and do something like that, what hits the floor may be different and could result in another Karl for H&M fiasco. Choo was just a mess for men simply because they didn't design with him in mind.

That's a pretty big "if".

As it was said by Tom Ford, H&M shoppers are not high fashion shoppers. Lanvin isn't going to convert anyone. If you look at who's most excited for this, it's primarily habitual H&M shoppers, not Lanvin shoppers.

They indicated that if they made the towels themselves, with their resources and buying power, using the same fabrics, it would have cost $500 a towel as opposed to whatever target sold them for. Granted, that may be a bit of an exageration on their part RE the $500, but I think that it proves a point. If H&M plans on charging a premium for these items, the only realy way to justify it is using better fabrics and construction (the Lanvin name premium / markup will only go so far). If they produced H&M quality and charged H&M x Lanvin prices (whatever that markup is), but the product was on the same level as their normal stuff, they would get ripped in the press and Lanvin would suffer as well.
Quality won't even be in the same dimension as Lanvin.

^ A Xenox in the making. You may want to keep those strong opinions to yourself or blunt the edges a bit until you have some idea what you're talking about.

On topic though when do we see this? I haven't been keeping track but will admit it piques curiosity.

I always hear people complain about the quality of H&M, but I've never found it problematic. If you're buying the LOGG or DIVIDED brands, which are intended for frat boys and teenage boys respectively, why are you expecting high fashion? (But still probably they're designed with the intention of surviving a frat boy and teenager.) But their "H&M" line stuff to me has a perfect fit, and maintains the "new" look for a long time. If you wash the clothes and don't put them in the dryer (and don't wash jeans unless you fell in a mud puddle), and then iron them, they're perfectly fine garments. I'd say their fits/styles are much better than, say, ZARA (whose shirts always scratch my skin), and much better than GAP and even supposedly classier mid-level retailers like Club Monaco and Banana Republic. I'd go so far as to say I'd rather shop at H&M than Acne. And what is this criticizing Lanvin for wanting to collaborate with H&M? Clearly they see a big name retailer that actually cares about fashion. It's like Lagerfeld"”he doesn't hold poorer people in contempt. He wants them to be able to enjoy fashion as well. (And oftentimes the poorer ones have much more style and creativity.) And for the person who invoked YSL, he himself would never be so snobbish to denigrate H&M"”he himself started the Rive Gauche stores, said perfect style was a black turtleneck and a blazer, and wished that he had invented the blue jean.
Typed out a long response to this and decided it's not worth it. Lurk moar

Notice how it's always the people with under 100 posts who, utterly unable to puzzle this **** out for themselves, come to the conclusion that the only possible explanation is "SF Groupthink"?

I understand that the post was flawed in a lot of ways, but I don't understand why everybody took a post that was at the very least cohesive and well-intentioned as an opportunity to point and laugh (and pat themselves on the back).
