Makeup for Men - Page 4

I was watching Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN last night and I couldn't help but laugh at how bad Orel Hershiser's makeup was. He looked like a poorly kept tranny.

that must be it. my you're charming, why your nickname is 'tomgirl' completely eludes me.

If, however, a man wants to look as though he isn't a tranny wearing make-up, he should go for a more lightweight product that mimics the skin's surface, which is what lines such as BB, Laura Mercier, Dior (to some extent), etc... do.

i thought only asian men did this. i just feel makeup for men is never acceptable, unless you have a big red zit on your nose and wanted to cover it up, but as a daily regimen, no way. slight imperfections on a mans face is what makes you a man.

You're right, I should have given myself a cuter nickname to suit!

If my memory serves me right, Aramis a few years back attempted to launch men's make up line...tanked big time and soon disappeared from dept stores. Don't wear that shit unless on TV in front of the camera or an actor on stage

Fuck that, I wear it all the time, haters gonna hate. No one has ever noticed I'm wearing makeup unless I get wet and it starts to run. The reason that line tanked is because men who are wearing makeup don't care about whether or not the tube says "for men" on it, they are going to buy the trusted and established brands that have been making great products for years. If you've already found the perfect product, would you really switch just because it had a different name on it? Or (in the case of YSL) was in a gray container instead of a golden one? Tubes of chemicals don't have genders, and adding a gender isn't going to suddenly change other people's close-minded perceptions about it. Those who are open-minded, on the other hand, are already doing it with "women's" stuff. Makeup is SURPRISINGLY fun, it's not as if I need to wear makeup, but it's actually really interesting to play with your appearance. Using makeup is no different than using hair products, except instead of playing with your hair it's playing with your skin. I'm not saying you have to do it, I'm just saying that you're delusional if you think wearing makeup is any different than caring about your hair.

I'm going to throw myself under the bus here, especially in light of my previous comments in this thread.

Well... I put makeup on my face today.

I shaved my mustache and goatee last night. This morning I woke up with some heavy duty scrubble and razor bumps since I haven't shaved my mustache in several years. I had to go rep the child pornographer today and knew there was a distinct chance I'd get my face on the news. I wasn't going to show up looking like Mad Max so I wentto CVS and bought some concealer and covered it up quite nicely.

I did not subsequently have sex with a man, and I'm not planning on drinking a cosmo anytime soon.

Just wanted to put that out there.

Not something I wouldn't do. Using an alum block after shaving would help with razor burn and irritation in the future, though.
