My 30 gig video is still going strong, thanks. Though it only has room for one season of DS9 and a few weeks worth of audio.

The whole cloud thing is all well and good if:

1) You have a strong internet connection
2) You aren't being charged per MB of data used

However, if you live in a city like NYC and are charged per MB of data and are constantly going in and out of subways where there is no internet connection, the whole cloud delivery system is null and void and if Apple is going that direction they can shove it up their ass.

Rumor has it Apple is doing away with storage altogether, eventually, while implementing a cloud storage system for iTunes. No doubt this will involve having to maintain wifi or cell connectivity to access, and no doubt it will come at the cost of some obnoxiously high carrier data fee per month, like the iPad's. No thank you.

This already exists and is very successful. I haven't downloaded many mp3's since discovering grooveshark. Dataplans are only going to get cheaper so this definitely will be in the cards soon.

I have no doubt Apple will push some way to monetize it -- and fail miserably. Then, schadenfreude! (note the Asuka reference)

The new nanos seem marsupialedly hard to use. Basically all you can do is swipe it left and right?

The cloud will come into existence for home use over wifi first. We can expct to see this next year, I believe. I don't see streaming your media library via 3g/4g from the cloud to your mobile device for at least another 3-4 years. Carriers are upgrading their networks too slowly and prices for mobile bandwidth are just too high for the average user.

I love my iPod classic. If they ever announce they are discontinuing it, I am heading out to my nearest electronics store to buy a 160GB for when my 80GB iPod Video dies.

Why can't these a-holes add an FM tuner to the touch? It's in the stupid nano.

In today's lunch break my colleagues discussed the new Apple products. Listening to them talk for 5 minutes made me feel like I should sell my iPad to be Apple-less again

I don't get how people can be so blindly applauding everything Apple releases. I mean, who had the insane idea to put a touch screen on a 46% size-reduced Nano?

If I had to buy a nano today it would be the square kind from 2 generation's ago.

This touch screen thing is just dumb. Who wants to scroll a list the size of a postage stamp and force you to look at the screen to do anything? Give me back the click wheel.

Isn't Apple using the cloud for the new Apple TV? The new TV doesn't have storage like the old one - everything appears to be streamed from WiFi.

When I heard the (erroneous) initial reports that they were doing away with the classic and there would be no more click wheel it was

The new nano and clip suck. 50 bucks for 2 gigs. Who are they kidding?

Why can't the nano have video?

The nano reminds me of a smaller Cowon D2, released in 2007. Even that had video... played all kinds of files, had an SD card slot, a 52 hour battery life for audio, 10 for video and amazing sound quality. Of course, the interface for the D2 wasn't great and it was a resistive touch screen.

Whatever... they'll all sell well, because it's an Apple product.
