Alden NST High Boot in #8 12D

These are the "hawaiian tankers" Leather soul came out with a few seasons back. they are 12D on the barrie last and are in #8 shell cordovan they are in slightly used condition and fresh off an alden factory restoration. history: I purchased these in feb of this year from Leather Soul. They were worn sparingly through winter here in new england and in april I noticed the welt stitch on one of the boots had come loose. they were finally sent into alden for a repair in may and returned in july. since its been the hottest summer on record they haven't been worn since return from alden. I was going to keep them for the fall, but too many options and I need to thin the heard. Alden refinished the exterior, fixed the problem with the loose welt stitch, replaced the commando soles, replaced the interior heel footbed and set a stitch into the tongues to stop them from sliding during wear. (all the alden boots i've had have done this and the factory was happy to do the stitch at my request) since these have been worn they do have some creasing in the toe box as well as minor scratches and scuffs (which for the most part were covered by the refinishing process) i've done my best to illustrate the condition in the photos below if you need more pics, have questions, etc please let me know these are 12D on the barrie which runs 1/2 big they sold out quickly at leather soul and as of this time LS has said 12D will be a special order from here out orig retail was $625 , asking $400 $380 (final drop) p.s. will include receipt showing date of restoration as well as box and the bags if i can find them (please note the first few pics were taken with flash and make the boots appear much lighter as they are in person. second pic is the best representation of their actual color)

Nice boots. You bought the boots in Feb, Alden did all that to fix your boots for you. Impressive!

It did take awhile for them to get the job done, but yes, they are very good about fixing problems .

Just a question because I have seen this before: Does the NST always have that little diagonal split in the shell where the two sets of hand stitching meet at that perpendicular intersection. see last picture.

He's a very good seller as well. I bought a gorgeous pair of gently worn shell AE McNeils from him.

thanks for the interest guys, and I appreciate the nod, Deacon!

unfortunately, (or, fortunately for me) I decided to keep these.
I'd forgotten I didn't close the listing and I'm not seeing a way to delete the thread now.
I sincerely apologize for any confusion

closerlook, i'm not sure if I'm understanding the diagonal you're referring to, but i can tell you that an NST stitch isn't actually different pieces of hide stitched together. The stitch is just on the surface of the leather and creates that pattern. (sorry if this isn't what you were talking about)

mods, please delete this thread , item no longer for sale
thank you

Im glad you decided to keep these. Its a great boot. You should edit your title to include "SOLD" as to make it clear that they are unavailable.

thanks Namor,
that was my intention, but for some reason there's no longer an "edit" button for my OP.
maybe its because it was a relatively older post?
not sure what to do...
