Dude, prisons suck pretty much everywhere. That's why they call them prisons.

As much as the guy who wrote the OP, which is probably none. Simple old Armed robbery is not a federal offense, It's a class B felony (same thing I have) and the chances of him being at Milan for only two years for an armed BANK robbery (a federal crime) is pretty low. He was likely in county, which I have been to in two different counties in two different states. WA and NM. Not nearly as scary as city Juvenile Detention in Albuquerque, where I spent six months of my life thinking I was going to have to kill or be killed every day. The last time I was in Jail, (the only time as an adult) was over the winter of 2000/2001, and we DID get Ice Cream sandwiches. We also got to watch the Ravens Beat the Giants in Superbowl XXXV. 13 inch television mounted inside a cage on the ceiling. At least it was color.

I'm surprised to hear this about juvenile detention, didn't realize it could be so bad.

As the only nonfelon of four siblings, I can say that there is considerable variety in the penal experience, even between similar facilities (two state prisons, for example).

If you're headed for the big house, it would be best to find out what it's going to be like ahead of time, hopefully have a contact or two.

Seems unusual for that number of siblings. Did the experience of your siblings influence your choice of career?

He was already long gone before he went to prison:
Then your sister - they might say they'll wait, but you know they won't. I called mine on my second week and told her it was over. Apart from the total shock of going away, I couldn't stand spending every night wondering if she was getting cranked by some other dude. Was one less thing to worry about. My kid, who was about to turn 1 when I went away, will never have any idea who the **** I am. Her mom took her away the second I went inside. Never called. Don't even know where to begin looking.

I was reading the thread that the OP linked to, and it talks about how on the forum the post originally came from, there are a couple wordfilters. "Sister" = "Girlfriend", "Homiegot" = "******", and there's one other one that I forgot. At first when I read sister i was like

, but then I read about the filters and it made sense.

No, they were all charged in my first and second year of law school. And they've all shaped up.

One of them made national news. And the old cliche is true - her conviction and long trial were front page a couple of times. Her successful appeal (after serving almost a year) was buried on page six of local news.

Ah, thanks, that makes sense.
