Not knowing if the two of you have a bad history, but I felt like responding to your posts since it really constitutes as threadcrapping. This is a for sale thread, and while opinions are certainly within the forum rules, if you feel the need do so, you want to be informed with your information.

Making a comment, that someone can get something cheaper with a coupon, while obvious, is not really accurate because coupons are not indefinite in duration and they are not distributed to everyone. Additionally, the 20% coupons that J. Crew offers are not really intended to be used on collaboration items such as Alden, Quoddy, Red Wing, Belstaff, etc. So while these coupons will not work for you in the store purchasing such items, you may be lucky to swing it online.

So let's just say, J. Crew.com had this color online (which they didn't). The bag retails for $395. Apply the 20% coupon and the total takes you down to $316. Since you incur shipping charge ($18.50) and sales tax (bags are taxable) when using this code, your total at the end of the day would be $354.57 (I assumed a 6% sales tax). So that is a difference of $10.43 less than the price I was asking. The difference is none, if purchased in NYC and California where the sales tax is north of 8%, but that is neither here nor there. My point is all of which is moot, because the color wasn't available online, and wasn't purchased from J. Crew, and the coupon isn't available to everyone.

So while your intent may not be malicious in any way, why not make a similiar post in other threads for people that are selling Filson/Levis items and saying that they could have gotten those items cheaper if they bought it with the 40% code that existed a while back as an example? And since there are other coupons available for other items that people sell on here, you should say the same in those threads as well.

Again, not knowing if the two of you have a history. But I felt like I needed to chime in since this is my thread. Especially since we your points ignore the fact that you generally incur sales tax (purchased in store) and sales tax and shipping (if bought online).

FYI, the bag is being sold for more than my asking price on ebay:

Example #1

Example #2

Additionally I received several PMs and there was even a comment in this thread that this bag sells for over $400 in other stores.

So before making such posts, do your research and not piggyback off of someone else's point.

Thank you.

I don't even know this guy, he decided to crap on the thread for no reason. I am ECSTATIC that I'm receiving the Belstaff and more than happy with my decision. I think we both got a very fair deal. Mountain Brown 554s are hard to come by in the US and they're almost always over $400. I was just addressing the guy's logic that is obviously flawed. At least you got a lot of free bumps for the fryes ; )
