I don't understand the "can't afford nice jeans" arguement.

When you buy raw jeans you wear them daily or almost daily, so you don't have to spend your money on junk jeans for some crap rotation. What's more expensive: 1 pair of $70 jeans or 3 pairs of $40 jeans?

Buy a pair of raw something-or-the-others for ~70 bucks in B&S or on Ebay and then if you want to mix it up buy a pair of 501 STFs for $40.

if you decide to go with 501 STF's, make sure to try on some washed 501's as well to see if the 501 cut is for you. personally i hate the 501 cut, too high rise, too baggy legs, and i dont really like straight jeans. i'd much prefer to pick up a pair of raw or raw-looking 511's that are sized up to where they fit slim instead of skinny.

as for sizing 501's, thats easy. try on a pair that fits comfortably in the waist (not tight, but not loose either) and make sure you have 3" to 4" extra length on the inseam, because they shrink 3" to 4" in length after you hot soak them. the waist shrinks like a size or so, but stretches back out to the pre-soak size or bigger after a few wears.

shoes, this is easy, get a pair of chucks or low pro vans or some other random canvas plimsoll and you're set, they usually cost well under $50. a good pair of boots usually costs you $200 and up, and on your budget (or lack of a budget) you might want to avoid that expense until you get a steady income.

I've found with the 501 STFs I get better results if I buy them tight, wear them around for a day or two raw, and then soak in them. Even after shrinking them they stretch a good amount so if you err on the side of large you end up with a diaper ass and baggy legs.

so i tried some raws at barneys earlier today... I tried the Levis raws (forgot the name of the brand) and I saw some Naked and Famous jeans. But the only ones they had in my size were the Levis. So I tried the tapered and the straight fit. Strangely the tapered fit me better with a size 30 than the straight. I was told the levis only grows 1 size, and im a 31. I also liked the look of the tapered better than the straight. The only problem with the tapered is that I would not be able to wear high rise shoes and have the jeans fall over them.
Naked & Famous on the other hand, had something that looked like an inbetween. The Weird Guy. How are the N&F Weird Guy jeans as far as fit go? Would those be a good brand to invest in if I could find them for around $70 here on B&S, or something else for that price range?

This is a goddamned terrible thread. If Lokesh cannot make any money and therefore can't afford anything, then fine. But if you want to look presentable, you have to put your own effort into it. You don't come onto this forum, ask a series of unreasonable questions, followed by a series of stupid questions with easily searchable answers, and then complain when nobody takes the time to answer you. Do your own research. Everything you've asked about here has its own dedicated thread, for chrissakes.
