Are these Berluti's real Croc/Alligator?

I am going out on a limb just a little but I am pretty sure from what I see in the photos that these are a print. The space in -between the small tiles is just too smooth....none of the tiny creases that alligator and croc exhibit.

By Comparison I think those are prints.

Fairly certain they are not, as grain is present where normally there would be smooth scale.

I don't think they are real, Berlutti have those faux ones as a RTW option (still expensive) and only make Croc or Gator as a special bespoke order, of which the cost is ridiculously high, much higher than the usual bespoke guys mentioned on this forum.

100% stamped, not real. However whoever posted that giant skin, if you own that and want to sell PM me. I need something like that for a bespoke project at April in Paris.

I regularly handle both real crocodile hides of various species (caiman, porosus, nile, siamese, etc) as well as US alligator and that is printed calf. I have seen printed calf that I guarantee no one would be able to tell was was not genuine crocodile, but this one here is easily distinguishable. The best printed calf comes out of Italy. There is a bespoke maker who has a photo of a boot on his site made in what appears to be bright orange crocodile, but it is actually printed calf.

Kinnamon in Lakeland, FL may have the skins you need. But I thought April in Paris had their own supply of skins for the items they craft, no? Will give any hints as to what you're having made, or tell us what it is? By the way, April in Paris is a good choice for the work, albeit pricey.

Yes, AiP does provide the skins, but Bea will work with skins you provide her too (at least she did when I asked). This also helps cut the costs if you can source a good deal on a skin. Just yesterday I picked up a 14x55" matte alligator in grade 2, in a butterscotch color. Magnificent. I need something wider though for something else and would prefer a dark chocolate.

Im working on a few things in exotics - RJMan gave me a vintage sterling flask that I want to recover in kelly green croc, Im making an iPad case out of the butterscotch matte croc, and I want to do a suite of desk accessories as well. If I can get the giant piece of skin, I want to make a sleeve for my MacBook Pro as well.

I know Berluti, pretty well, and the above post is absolutely exact to my knowledge. Olga can be very fussy about using exotic skins and would never do it for RTW. Plus from what I see on the inside of the shoe poste by OP, this is not bespoke but a plain Olga I RTW. Adrian
