Questions about a tailor, please help?

Alright, so there's this shirt I like, but it's only available in size medium and won't be available in size small anytime soon. I am a size small, I'm a pretty small guy...

Now, I know if I get this shirt as a medium, it's not going to be the best fit. The sleeves will probably be longer than they have to and the shirt will overall look a bit baggy.

I'm curious, is there anything a tailor can't fix about a shirt? Like I don't know, maybe the shoulders or something? And also, if a tailor fixes the sleeves, will they look natural? Or would you be able to tell it's tailored?

I just want to know because it's my first time getting a shirt tailored.

Would he be able to make the whole shirt look naturally like a small, or is there some places where a tailor can't really do anything.

Why do you have to be a douchebag for?

I know it's a noob question, but I just need help.

ben, next time use the question thread. Do some research and find yourself a good tailor. He can do whatever you want and the shirt will come out as if it were made for you. Shortening the sleeve, taking in the side, slimming down the arms, narrowing the shoulders, all can be done easily.

Thanks dude.

Do you know how much it costs around? I know it depends on the tailor and work that needs to be done, but what price does it range around usually?

+1

Go find and ask a tailor who has a good reputation (yelp may help), and you will be amazed by what he/she can do.

You guys are crazy. Buying shirts that are too big everywhere with the intention of having them altered everywhere will very rarely produce a satisfying end result. Not to mention you'll probably be charged 10-12 bucks for every alteration.

I agree; it probably won't come out well. It'll prob be really malproportioned, plus it'll prob cost $50+

Narrowing the shoulders easily?? I've always thought this was a difficult and expensive alteration... Buy something that fits in the shoulders, everything else can be tailored.
