Anybody ever sell their Comic Book Collection? - Page 3

I was under the impression that the sportscard/comic book market had collapsed. I have a bunch of old SubMariners etc.

Sports card market cratered in the early-mid '90s - the only way they're worth a damn anymore are if you get them graded by Beckett for several dollars apiece (and that's some shady business, right there).

Comics had a bubble where comics that were only a few weeks or months old rapidly increased in value (DEATH OF SUPERMAN!!!!!) - that died. But the used comic market itself remains fairly strong.

I grew up around selling cards and comics - I am forever poisoned to the idea of collectibles.

Don't you mean the sports card market peaked in the early/mid 90s?

+1, it did. Did you know that there were more baseball cards produced from 1990 to 2005 than from 1887 to 1985.

Peaked and rapidy cratered. I was young but worked card shows almost every weekend - I remember the peak being '93ish and the absolute crash coming a year later (in part thanks to the '94 strike).
