Can the sleeves of a knit be altered if they're too long?

you can roll them up, but as far as i know, they can't be tailored, no. It might be possible, but only if it was a really fine sweater.

the one i am/was thinking of buying and tailoring definitely isn't fine; its a pretty heavy knit.

i'm the same height as the dude wearing it in this pic, so i'd have to do something with the sleeves.

^ I had a chunky knit altered a couple of years ago, it's possible but pretty expensive.

I'm always worried about getting the yarn caught on something when I wear that.
