Was going to order myself an Inverallan this fall but apparently they have retired their business. So disappointed.

Yeah, so am I.

But not all is lost I suppose: there's a woman in Scotland who makes custom aran knits like inverallan, for around the same price as well (her prices are a bit more expensive but include free shipping so it works out much the same) - it should come up by googling custom aran or something.

Her pics are not the best, and neither were Inverallan's (old man style and way too bulky) but we all know that as long as your sizing details are good it should come out looking like whatever Inverallan would do.

And Inverallan hasn't retired, they're just not doing personal orders anymore. I emailed them for stock info and all they have are smaller sizes, like smalls and mediums.

I sold it sadly, just didn't think it looked good or was really appropriate to wear to sixth form. Need to post photos of all my knits, I might have more then jet.

Hmm, I don't have that many. I used never to almost never wear knits (like 2 yrs ago-so most were bought in the last two yrs, aside from some Ann D, Colonna and whatnot).

From memory

01-MMM brown silk light sweater
02-Branquinho green houndstooth sweater
03-Demeulemeester purple/violet mohair sweater
04-Demeulemeester see-through mohair sweater
05-Demeulemeester stripped lightweight wool/cashmere/cotton w. oversized hood
06-YYamamoto oversized pink sweater w. anime girl on it
07-Victor&Rolf cotton swarovski crystal bunny coming out of hat sweater
08-Some fitted grey wool v-neck sweater from a local shop house-brand
09-Argyle sweater from same house brand
10-Stephan Schneider oversized, t-shaped sweater
11-Beige Sacai cardigan (wool, silk, cashmere-I think)
12-Wings&Horns grey sweater w. Aces painted on elbows
13-Jean Colonna black sweater w. leather parts and angled zip
14-Jean-Charles de Castelbajac mickey mouse cotton/cashmere sweater

I might get a few more: SNS knit of some sort (probably very basic), maybe a new MMM or SS or whatever and 1-2 Aran sweaters.

They're pretty cool. A lot of people only wear "dressy" knits but the more outlandish or street ones are also cool. A large portion of the knits I listed have graphics, patterns or are otherwise really unique and not biz-cas appropriate.

yeah I really have no objection to extravagantly patterned, out there knits in principle but those just come off as cheap and directionless to me

Can I make a non-baller knits thread? What are some brands of knits south of $100 I can consider?

Or is it just more uniqlo

^Save your $100. Get something else. IMO cheap knits just aren't worth it.
